These certifications highlight their exceptional performance in both physical album sales and digital streaming in Japan, one of the world’s largest music markets.
SEVENTEEN’s Triple Platinum Triumph
SEVENTEEN has added another milestone to their illustrious career with a triple platinum certification for their Japanese compilation album “ALWAYS YOURS.” The album surpassed 750,000 units shipped, a rare feat for K-pop artists in Japan . This follows their previous platinum certifications, including their ninth mini-album “Attacca,” which crossed 250,000 units in 2021 .
The group also secured a gold certification for their hit track “Left & Right,” which exceeded 50 million streams in Japan . Their consistent success in Japan was further recognized at the 2024 Japan Gold Disc Awards, where they won six awards, including Best Asian Artist and Album of the Year (Asia) .
Stray Kids’ Double Platinum and Streaming Success
Stray Kids continues to break records with their latest Japanese album “GIANT,” which earned a double platinum certification for shipping over 500,000 units . Their earlier album “THE SOUND” also achieved platinum status with 250,000 units shipped .
On the streaming front, their tracks “LALALALA” and “Back Door” were certified gold after surpassing 50 million streams each . Their Japanese single “Social Path (feat. LiSA) / Super Bowl -Japanese ver.-“ also won a Best 5 Singles award at the 2024 Japan Gold Disc Awards .
LE SSERAFIM’s Platinum Streak
LE SSERAFIM has solidified their position as a rising force in Japan. Their Japanese debut single “FEARLESS” made history by becoming the first K-pop group to achieve double platinum status with over 500,000 units shipped . Their album “UNFORGIVEN” also earned platinum certification for 250,000 units shipped .
In streaming, their tracks “FEARLESS” and “Eve, Psyche & The Bluebeard’s wife” crossed 100 million streams, earning platinum certifications, while “UNFORGIVEN” hit 50 million streams, securing a gold certification . The group was named New Artist of the Year (Asia) at the 2024 Japan Gold Disc Awards .
