Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has surprised his fans and the fans of K-pop sensation BTS by expressing his love for the band in a new video. The video was shared by Khan and Netflix on Thursday to announce the digital release of his film ‘Dunki’ on the streaming platform.
Shah Rukh Khans unique visa request
The video opens with Khan arriving at a visa office with a unique request: a visa to visit 190 countries, from Australia to Zimbabwe, all on a single document. Despite being informed by the visa officer that such a visa isn’t available, Khan remains undeterred. He highlights his global influence, from the popularity of his character Raj in Britain to Europe referencing his iconic movie line during Brexit. Additionally, a news bulletin on a TV reveals a Statue of Liberty mimicking Khan’s signature pose with outstretched arms.
SRK’s love for BTS
Khan then claims that he taught South Koreans how to fall in love and makes a cute finger heart sign. He says, “Love you BTS,” referring to the seven-member band that has taken the world by storm with their music and message. Khan’s gesture has left the fans of BTS, also known as ARMY, amused and delighted. Many of them took to social media to express their admiration for Khan and BTS, calling them legends and icons.
One fan wrote, “SRK saying ‘love you BTS’. This is my roman empire.” Another one added, “The very legend of love and romance going love you BTS iconic. Shahrukh Khan sir.” A fan hilariously tweeted, “ABOUT TIME MY HUSBANDS MET MY FIRST LOVE.”
Shah Rukh Khan’s film ‘Dunki’
Shah Rukh Khan then reveals that his visa request is related to his film ‘Dunki’, which is streaming in 190 countries on Netflix. He describes the film as one of his most ‘special’ projects, which takes viewers on an emotional rollercoaster. The film, which also stars Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani and Vicky Kaushal, is about a group of friends who embark on a journey of self-discovery and adventure. Khan hopes that the film resonates with people across the globe.
The film, which was released in theatres in 2022, received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. It was praised for its performances, direction, cinematography, music, and message. The film also won several awards, including the Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actor for Khan at the Filmfare Awards.
The video ends with Shah Rukh Khan’s visa being rejected, but he doesn’t seem to mind. He says, “I don’t need a visa, I have Netflix.” He then invites everyone to watch ‘Dunki’ on Netflix and enjoy the film with him.
