The new season of the hit BBC crime drama Shetland continues its gripping mystery, with Episode 4 scheduled for release on Wednesday, November 26, at 9 PM on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. This episode is part of a six-week run that began on November 5, drawing detectives Ruth Calder and Tosh deeper into a murder that has shaken a remote island community.

The Story So Far in Lunniswick

Series 10 of Shetland takes place primarily in the fictional, isolated village of Lunniswick, filmed in the real Shetland location of Levenwick. The season’s central case involves the murder of a retired social worker, Eadie Tulloch. Her body was discovered after being left exposed to the harsh elements for several days, revealing a life of solitude and a long-standing estrangement from her son.

Detective Inspectors Ruth Calder and Alison ‘Tosh’ McIntosh have been called to investigate. They quickly sense that the residents of the close-knit community are not being entirely truthful about their relationships with the victim.

Alison Oโ€™Donnell, who plays Tosh, said about the setting: “The fictional village of Lunniswick is typical of Shetland, scattered houses lining a beach, the neighbours well acquainted with one another and the land they live on. It is rich in history, relationships and secrets.”

As the investigation progresses, the detectives untangle a complicated web of lies. The focus has turned to a young neighbor with a troubled past, David Powell, and his overly protective mother, Gina, who has been blocking police questions. Meanwhile, local resident Colin Waite has drawn the detectives’ attention toward David, adding another layer of suspicion. The investigation is set to test the loyalty of the police team, as one member is revealed to have a personal link to the case.
