SHINee is set to release a new single titled “Poet | Artist” on May 25, marking their 17th debut anniversary. The single’s name is a tribute to Jonghyun’s posthumous album, which was released in 2018 after his passing. This will be SHINee’s first single album in Korea, making it a special moment for fans.
The group shared a trailer and album details, introducing five “fluffy” characters representing different versions of the single. Each doll has a unique shape—heart, star, and others—all in SHINee’s signature pearl aqua green, their official fandom color. The dolls also feature accent colors matching the members’ personalized microphone shades from their early days .
A promotional concept photo shows four hands touching, symbolizing the current members—Onew, Key, Minho, and Taemin—while honoring Jonghyun’s memory. Fans have expressed deep emotion over the tribute, calling it a touching way to remember him. The single includes two tracks, with one being the title song .
The release is part of “SHINee Week”, a celebration running from May 18 to 25. The group will stream past concerts on their YouTube channel and hold a three-day concert, “SHINee World VII [E.S.S.A.Y]”, at Seoul’s KSPO Dome. All shows are sold out, proving the group’s lasting popularity .

SHINee debuted in 2008 with five members. After Jonghyun’s passing in 2017, the group continued as four. Each member has also built successful solo careers. Onew recently finished a North American tour, Minho stars in plays, Taemin completed a world tour, and Key remains active in variety shows .
