South Park Season 27 Episode 5: Kyle’s Mom Confronts Netanyahu in Surprise Ending

South Park season 27

(

)

In the latest episode of South Park, a schoolyard betting craze leads Kyle’s mom, Sheila Broflovski, on an unexpected journey to the Middle East. The episode, titled “Conflict of Interest,” which aired on September 24, 2025, sees Sheila delivering a powerful speech directly to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instead of the violent act the town speculated about.

The story begins when the kids of South Park Elementary get hooked on prediction market apps, where they can bet on real-life events. The situation escalates when an antisemitic bet appears, questioning whether Kyle’s Jewish mom will “strike Gaza and destroy a Palestinian hospital.” This sets off a chain of events that ends with one of the most pointed political moments of the season.

How the Betting App Drives the Plot

The episode opens with the students immersed in a new fad: prediction market apps. Stan explains they are a form of “social platform betting” where people can make any bet they want and others can take them up on it . The bets start innocently, covering topics like whether the girls’ soccer team will win or if there will be a snow day .

The conflict ignites when Eric Cartman reads out a more serious bet to Kyle: “Will Kyle’s mom strike Gaza and destroy a Palestinian hospital?” . Kyle is immediately outraged and blames Cartman, who denies creating the bet but sees an opportunity for profit . Kyle vows to find out who is responsible and get the bet taken down.

His search leads him to call the company managing the app, which points him to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He is then redirected to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) because they now “deal with the offensive stuff” . This brings FCC Chair Brendan Carr into the story.

Sheila Broflovski’s Growing Anger

Meanwhile, Sheila Broflovski becomes aware of the bet and the town’s gossip about her. She expresses frustration at being judged for a complex historical conflict she feels she has no control over.

“You see, it’s just pure anti-Semitism. I’m so sick of being grilled about my views on Palestine and my thoughts on Hamas, and being judged for things that are centuries old and that non-Jews know nothing about. Well, if they all think we should do something, then you better believe I’ll do something” .

Her anger builds throughout the episode, fueled by the constant scrutiny. Instead of ignoring the speculation, Sheila decides to take action, surprising everyone by traveling to Israel.

The Trump and Satan Subplot

A parallel storyline involves Donald Trump and Satan. After the previous episode revealed Satan is pregnant with Trump’s “butt baby,” the president is desperate to end the pregnancy. He fears fatherhood will force him to give up his lavish lifestyle of dinner parties and trips to Mar-a-Lago .

Trump sets up a series of elaborate traps to cause a miscarriage, including greasing stairs, lacing stew with Plan B, and trying to infect Satan with toxoplasmosis from cat litter . In a comedic twist, each trap accidentally ensnares FCC Chair Brendan Carr instead of Satan. Carr ends up in the hospital with broken bones and a potential loss of his freedom of speech .

Vice President J.D. Vance visits Carr in the hospital, delighted that a potential rival in the line of succession is out of the way. He threatens Carr using the FCC chair’s own words from a recent real-world controversy: “We can do this the easy way or the hard way” .

Sheila’s Confrontation with Netanyahu

The episode reaches its climax when Sheila, having traveled to Israel, confronts Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his office. The scene is styled as an homage to Susie Greene’s famous rants from Curb Your Enthusiasm, set to the show’s iconic “Frolic” theme music .

Instead of the physical violence that was bet on, Sheila unleashes a verbal tirade. She condemns Netanyahu’s actions and accuses him of using Judaism as a shield from criticism.

“THERE YOU ARE, MR. NETANYAHU! Just who do you think you are!? Killing thousands and flattening neighborhoods, then wrapping yourself in Judaism like it’s some shield from criticism! You’re making life for Jews miserable, and life for American Jews IMPOSSIBLE!” .

This moment subverts expectations, showing that Sheila’s “action” is a mature, vocal condemnation rather than a reckless act. The episode frames her as being in the right for calling out the leader directly .

The Aftermath and Bet Removal

Upon learning that Sheila has flown to Israel, a panicked Cartman fears she will actually bomb Gaza, causing him to lose a large bet he placed using his mother’s credit card. He quickly works with Kyle to have the offensive bet removed . The episode ends with the bet being taken down, resolving the central conflict .

The episode was originally scheduled to air on September 17, 2025, but was delayed by a week. Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone stated, “Apparently when you do everything at the last minute sometimes you don’t get it done. This one’s on us. We didn’t get it done in time” .
