In an unprecedented move for Netflix, the streaming service confirmed that all four existing seasons of Stranger Things simultaneously landed in its Global Top 10 charts during the week of November 17-23, 2025. This marks the first time any Netflix series has achieved this feat, demonstrating massive fan engagement just days before the final season’s debut.

The surge in viewership is driven by audiences both rewatching the series and discovering it for the first time ahead of the fifth and final season, which begins its three-part release on November 26, 2025.

The Record-Breaking Chart Domination

According to Netflix’s official data for the week of November 17-23, every season of Stranger Things secured a spot on the Global Top 10 list for English-language series.

Season 1 led the pack for the show, ranking as the No. 3 most-watched series with 4.1 million views. Season 4 followed closely behind at No. 5 with 3.3 million views. Season 2 and Season 3 also charted, landing at No. 7 and No. 9 respectively, with both recording approximately 3.1 million views.

The only titles to outperform Stranger Things Season 1 that week were the thriller “The Beast in Me,” which held the top spot, and the first season of “Absentia,” an Amazon Prime Video series that recently became available on Netflix.

Anticipation for the Final Season’s Release

This record-setting achievement comes just before the highly anticipated release of Stranger Things Season 5. The final season is being released in a unique three-volume structure.

Volume 1, consisting of the first four episodes, arrives on November 26, 2025. Netflix is releasing it at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, a strategic move that allows for same-evening viewing parties.

The release schedule continues with Volume 2 (episodes 5-7) on December 25, 2025, and culminates with the series finale, Episode 8, on December 31, 2025. In another first for a Netflix series, the two-hour finale will receive a concurrent release in select theaters alongside its streaming debut.

A Look at the Final Season’s Story

The fifth season picks up in the fall of 1987. The official summary sets the stage for the final battle, stating that Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna.

However, their mission is complicated. The government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will Byers’ disappearance approaches, the group must face a darkness more powerful than anything they have encountered before.

Series creators the Duffer Brothers have described the tone of the final season as a blend of the vibes from Season 1 and Season 4, promising a return to the show’s roots while raising the stakes. They have also confirmed that the season will finally reveal the true nature of the Upside Down and explore Will Byers’ central connection to the unfolding events.

A Lasting Cultural Impact

The simultaneous Top 10 charting of all four seasons is a powerful indicator of the show’s enduring popularity and cultural relevance. Since its debut in 2016, Stranger Things has consistently been one of Netflix’s most valuable properties.

Season 4, released in 2022, remains the platform’s third-most popular English-language series of all time, amassing 140.7 million views in its first 91 days. The show’s ability to drive significant viewership for its entire catalog years after its earlier seasons premiered underscores its status as a modern streaming icon.

As fans prepare for the beginning of the end, the record-breaking chart performance proves that the world’s fascination with the residents of Hawkins, Indiana, is stronger than ever.
