The fifth and final season of Stranger Things will premiere on Netflix in three parts during the 2025 holiday season, concluding the nearly decade-long story. The release strategy groups the eight episodes into volumes for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve, creating a cinematic send-off for the series.
Final Season Release Schedule
The show’s last episodes will be released in a unique three-part event. All new episodes will be available on Netflix at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET on their respective dates.

- Volume 1 (Episodes 1-4): November 26, 2025
- Volume 2 (Episodes 5-7): December 25, 2025

Episode Titles and Story Details
The final season consists of eight episodes. The first volume includes “The Crawl,” “The Vanishing of…,” “The Turnbow Trap,” and “Sorcerer.” Volume two contains “Shock Jock,” “Escape from Camazotz,” and “The Bridge.” The series concludes with “The Rightside Up.”
The season is set in the fall of 1987. The story continues as Hawkins is severely damaged by the Rifts to the Upside Down that opened at the end of season four. The main characters are united with the goal of finding and killing Vecna, who has disappeared. Their mission becomes more difficult as the government places the town under military quarantine and intensifies its hunt for Eleven.
Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer have indicated the final season will bring the story full circle, returning to the tone and character pairings that defined the show’s first season.
Theatrical Release for the Finale
In a shift for Netflix, the series finale will receive a simultaneous release in theaters. The final episode, “The Rightside Up,” will be available to watch in over 350 movie theaters in the US and Canada starting December 31, 2025, at the same time it becomes available for streaming.
The Duffer Brothers expressed their excitement about the theatrical release, stating: “We’re beyond excited that fans will have the chance to experience the final episode of Stranger Things in theaters — it’s something we’ve dreamed about for years, and we’re so grateful to Ted, Bela, and everyone at Netflix for making it happen. Where to Watch the Final Season
Stranger Things Season 5 will be available exclusively on Netflix. The entire series, including previous seasons, is also available for streaming on the platform. The final season will be available to all Netflix subscribers, including those on the standard ad-supported plan, which starts at $7.99 per month.
