The first look at the new Street Fighter movie is here, and it features two of WWEโs biggest stars in iconic roles. Roman Reigns appears as the demonic warrior Akuma, while Cody Rhodes steps into the boots of the all-American soldier Guile. Their character images were revealed online on December 11, generating immediate buzz among wrestling fans and gamers.
The reveal was part of a larger trailer debut for the film at The Game Awards 2025. The movie, which wrapped filming in November, features a massive cast of actors, musicians, and athletes. It is scheduled for a global release on October 16, 2026.
Roman Reigns Transforms into the Demon Akuma
Roman Reigns shared the first image of his Akuma on social media. The photo shows a full transformation into the “Master of the Fist,” a character known for his terrifying power in the video games.
The look is directly inspired by the games. Reigns has the character’s long, spiked dark hair and glowing red eyes. He wears a sleeveless gi with stylized kanji on the back and the heavy beads and rope necklace Akuma is known for. Fans and commentators noted the game-accurate details, with one describing the image as “terrifying” and “downright frightening”. The casting links Reigns’ commanding “Tribal Chief” persona from WWE to a video game villain with similar boss-level energy.
Cody Rhodes Embodies the Patriot Guile
On the same day, the look for Cody Rhodes as Guile was also unveiled. Rhodes plays the iconic American Air Force major, one of the most recognizable characters from the Street Fighter II era.
The image shows Rhodes in military gear, complete with Guile’s signature flat-top haircut. The fit is considered natural for Rhodes, whose WWE character also embodies an all-American persona. Initial fan reactions to the look have been positive, focusing on the faithful adaptation. Comments on social media praised the hairstyle as being “spot on” and noted that the actor successfully “lean[s] into the silliness of it being a video game movie”.
Full Cast and Chaotic Game Awards Reveal
The trailer premiere at The Game Awards was a memorable event. A large part of the cast came on stage, leading to a chaotic but energetic few minutes.
The main cast includes:
- Andrew Koji as Ryu
- Noah Centineo as Ken Masters
- Callina Liang as Chun-Li
- Jason Momoa as Blanka
- David Dastmalchian as the villain M. Bison
The stage appearance was uncoordinated and loud, with cast members talking over each other. At one point, actor Andrew Schulz jokingly tried to invite the cast of Mortal Kombat 2 on stage, playfully reviving the classic rivalry between the two fighting game franchises. Despite the chaos, Callina Liang confirmed that filming had finished “a few weeks ago,” and the group presented the award for Best Ongoing Game.
