A film adaptation of Freida McFadden’s bestselling thriller, “The Housemaid,” is in the works, starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried. The movie, directed by Paul Feig, is scheduled for a theatrical release later this year.
The Housemaid’s Plot and Cast
“The Housemaid” centers around Millie, played by Sydney Sweeney, a young woman from a humble background who takes a job as a live-in housemaid for a wealthy couple, Nina (Amanda Seyfried) and Andrew (Brandon Sklenar, known for his role in “It Ends With Us”). Millie soon discovers that her new employers are hiding some unsettling and potentially dangerous secrets. The story is based on McFadden’s 2022 novel, which spent weeks on The New York Times Best Sellers list and won an International Thriller Writers award in 2023.
Joining Sweeney, Seyfried, and Sklenar are Michele Morrone (“365 Days”) as Enzo, and Indiana Elle in an undisclosed role.
