Sydney Sweeney has shared exciting updates about the upcoming third season of HBO’s hit show Euphoria. The actress, who plays Cassie Howard, revealed that the new season will be “more unhinged” than before. Fans can expect Cassie to be even “crazier” as the story takes a wild turn.
The show, which first aired in 2019, follows a group of high school students dealing with love, drugs, and identity struggles. It became a cultural phenomenon, especially among Gen Z viewers. Season 2 ended with major drama, including Cassie’s messy relationship with Nate (Jacob Elordi) and her public meltdown.
Sweeney is currently filming Season 3 and shared some details in a recent interview. She said:
“I have such a spot in my heart for Cassie, and I hold her really close and dear. She is crazy. She makes so many mistakes. She’s flawed on so many levels, but she does it all from a place of love. It could be a sad version of love, as well. It’s so much fun to play a character that is as crazy as she is.”
The actress also praised the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, for encouraging bold storytelling. She added:
“Sam is such a brilliant filmmaker to work with, because I’ll read something, then I’ll call him, and I’m like, ‘Let’s go crazier.’ And he’s like, ‘I’m all in.’ And this season is unhinged.”
When asked if Season 3 will be more intense than previous seasons, Sweeney simply said, “Yes.”
A leaked clip from the set showed Sweeney in a wedding dress with the initials “C & N,” sparking rumors that Cassie might marry Nate. However, this has not been confirmed, and some fans think it could be a fantasy scene.
Season 3 has faced delays due to scheduling conflicts with the star-studded cast, including Zendaya. But now that filming is underway, fans can expect a dramatic return.
Sweeney also mentioned that the new season will include a time jump, making the story even more unpredictable. She said:
“It’s going to be very, very wild. I actually like it because there’s so much room for growth for both me as a person and also Cassie as a character.”
