A tarot card reader, known only as Baba the Witch, gains a massive online following by making one chillingly accurate prediction after another: the murders of several social media influencers. As public fear grows, a police officer whose life is destroyed by one of these events must use the very tools of the internet to find the truth.

The Story Behind Million-Follower Detective

The plot centers on a viral tragedy that ruins a detective’s life. An internet celebrity named Wei Yan fires a gun outside a police station and is shot by officer Chen Chia-jen. The event is recorded and spreads quickly online, turning Officer Chen into a target for intense public criticism and online harassment.

At the same time, an anonymous user called Baba the Witch begins predicting the deaths of influencers with perfect accuracy. This grabs the attention of detective Li Hsin-ping, who sees a pattern of serial murders. To clear his name and find the killer, the disgraced Officer Chen decides to team up with a famous influencer, Lin Ting-yu (known online as Youzi), using her platform and knowledge of the online world to help his investigation.
