The foul-mouthed teddy bear is showing no signs of slowing down. Ted Season 2 has held the number one spot on Peacock for three weeks in a row since its release last month. The comedy series continues to pull in huge numbers worldwide, making creator Seth MacFarlane very happy.
The show dropped all eight episodes on March 5, 2026. Within days, it became Peacock’s most-watched original title across the platform’s entire history. Now entering its fourth week, the series remains on top of the streaming charts in multiple countries.
A Massive Win for Peacock and Seth MacFarlane
Ted Season 2 arrived more than two years after the first season premiered in January 2024. The wait clearly did not hurt interest. The first season already held records as Peacock’s most-watched original series and the number one original streaming comedy in the United States for over two consecutive months.

The second season has matched or beaten those numbers. Industry tracking shows the show dominating viewership charts across the United States. The series also performs strongly in international markets, including the UK, Canada, and Australia.
The show follows Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) and his best friend John Bennett (Max Burkholder) during their senior year of high school in 1994. The family includes John’s parents Matty (Scott Grimes) and Susan (Alanna Ubach), plus cousin Blaire (Giorgia Whigham).
What Makes Season 2 Connect with Viewers
The new season gives more screen time to the whole family. Critics point out that episodes focus on different characters while keeping the crude humor intact. Episode 7 follows Susan getting into trouble and ending up in prison. Episode 3 centers around a Dungeons and Dragons game with elaborate sets and costumes.
The show’s writers found a balance between shocking jokes and real emotional moments. Episode 6 deals with an unexpected pregnancy storyline that takes a surprisingly serious tone. The comedy still comes first, but the dramatic beats land effectively.
Social media reaction has been very positive. Viewers praise the chemistry between the cast members. Many say the writing is sharper than Season 1. The eight-episode format allows for complete binge-watching sessions over a weekend.
The series continues as a prequel to the Ted films from 2012 and 2015. Seth MacFarlane serves as writer, director, executive producer, and co-showrunner. Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh also write and executive produce alongside him.

Global Reach and Streaming Performance
Ted Season 2 performs exceptionally well outside the United States. The first season was the biggest US comedy launch on Sky in the UK in 15 years. It also broke records in Australia and Canada. The second season appears to follow the same path.
Peacock made a smart choice by renewing the show for Season 2 back in May 2024. The series costs around $10 million per episode to produce because of the CGI needed for Ted. But the viewership numbers justify the expense.
The streaming service also has bigger plans for the franchise. An animated sequel series is in the works. It will pick up where the films left off and bring back Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, and Jessica Barth to voice their roles.
The showrunners shared their thoughts before the season came out.
“We’ve made a second season of our show, Ted, which we are excited to share with you. The episodes represent the hard work of our fellow writers, gifted actors, and talented crew, including the visual effects team who bring the character of Ted so convincingly to life,” said Seth MacFarlane, Paul Corrigan, and Brad Walsh in a joint statement.
They added, “We hope you enjoy these eight somewhat filthy, hopefully funny, heartfelt episodes about a young man, his talking teddy bear, and their highly dysfunctional family.”
Ted Season 2 faces no major competition on Peacock right now. The strategy of dropping all episodes at once creates immediate conversation online. Viewers who finish the season quickly recommend it to friends, keeping the momentum going into week four.
The first season stayed in the top 10 for months after its release. Early signs suggest Season 2 will do the same. Seth MacFarlane has not confirmed a third season yet. But with these numbers, it seems very likely Peacock will want more episodes.
All eight episodes of Ted Season 2 are available for streaming on Peacock in the United States. International viewers can watch on Sky and Now TV in the UK and other local platforms in different regions.
