The risky temple business is back with higher stakes. The Believers Season 2 starts streaming on December 4, 2025, exclusively on Netflix. The new season continues the story of three young friends who turned faith into a business and now face even more dangerous consequences. With a powerful new villain and a massive scheme that mixes politics, money, and religion, the fight for survival gets much harder for Win, Game, and Dear.

What Happened in The Believers Season 1?

The story began with three friends and business partners: Win, Game, and Dear. After their tech startup failed, they were left with a massive debt of six million baht and dangerous loan sharks demanding payment. Desperate for a solution, Win came up with a plan. He noticed how much money people donated to local temples and saw a business opportunity.

The trio found a run-down temple called Phummaram and worked to fix it up. They used modern marketing ideasโ€”like hosting events and starting a podcast with monksโ€”to attract visitors and, more importantly, donations. Their plan worked, and money started pouring in. However, they quickly found themselves involved with corrupt people inside the temple, including a head monk named Ekachai, and a powerful local politician named Ae. By the end of the first season, their scheme had led to police investigations, a murder, and the friends being blackmailed to keep the operation going.

The Believers Season 2 Story and New “Mega Merit Project”

The new season finds Win, Game, and Dear trying to leave their dangerous past behind. Unfortunately, they are pulled back in by Ae, the politician whose ambitions blend spiritual influence with corruption. She forces the trio to work on a new, much larger scheme called the “Mega Merit Project”.

Ae’s plan is to redevelop a place called Nong Khal Temple, turning it into what she calls a “merit bridge”. The project is designed to attract huge donations from the public. However, this temple redevelopment is actually a front. Its real purpose is to enable large-scale money laundering for Ae and her associates. What began for the three friends as a way to pay off personal debt has become a fight for their lives inside a much bigger and more dangerous system.

Director Wattanapong Wongwan explained the core idea of the new season.

“The Believers 2 tells the story of a group of people who try to play with the system, but ultimately, the system strikes back. We continue to keep Buddhism as the central theme, but expand the story into local politics. These two worldsโ€”religion and politicsโ€”share the same instruments of power used to sway peopleโ€™s hearts.”

Returning and New Cast Members for Season 2

The main trio of actors returns to lead the series. James Teeradon Supapunpinyo plays the clever and often troubled Win. Peach Pachara Chirathivat returns as Game, and Ally Achiraya Nitibhon plays Dear.

They are joined again by Donut Manatsanun Phanlerdwongsakul, who plays the formidable politician Ae. A key returning character is Monk Dol, played by Patchai Pakdeesusuk. His story takes a major turn in Season 2; he has left the monastic life and must now find his way in the outside world, grappling with his faith and identity.

The new season also introduces new characters played by actors including Petch Paophet Charoensook, Joey Phuwasit Ananbhornsiri, and Pearypie Amata Chittasenee. These new faces add more layers to the already complex web of relationships and deceit.
