Jensen Ackles, who plays Soldier Boy in the popular series The Boys, recently shared a story about filming the show’s fifth and final season. The actor described a moment that was so surprising, it made him walk right off the set. The unexpected scene caused a genuine reaction that was not in the script, forcing the crew to stop filming.
What Happened on Set
The incident occurred while Ackles was filming a scene as Soldier Boy. He had rehearsed the sequence with the crew, but things changed when the cameras started rolling. As he walked onto the set and turned a corner, he was confronted with something he did not expect to see.
Ackles described his immediate reaction at a fan convention in Philadelphia, saying:
“I walk into the scene. Soldier Boy. And I turn the corner and I go, ‘Oh my god.’ That wasn’t my line, and I was supposed to stay there. But I hadn’t seen what was going on. We’d blocked it out. We rehearsed it. Things changed when the camera was rolling, and I hadn’t seen it. And I walked in and it was, ‘Dear God,’ and I just walked back out.”
The crew was confused by his exit, and the take was stopped. Ackles apologized, explaining, “I’m sorry. I wasn’t prepared for that. And I don’t think anybody else will be either.” He did not give any specific details about what he saw, keeping the surprise for viewers when the season airs.
The Boys’ Final Season and Its Shocking Moments
This is not the first time The Boys has included scenes that shock both its characters and the audience. Each season has featured at least one moment known for being particularly graphic or disturbing.
