The finale of this unique series, which blends workplace cringe with a surreal conspiracy thriller, will reveal the fate of Tim Robinson’s obsessed character, Ron Trosper. For fans who have followed Ron’s chaotic investigation, here is everything you need to know about the final episode.

Finale Release Schedule

The eighth and final episode of The Chair Company Season 1 is scheduled to arrive on Sunday, November 30, 2025. New episodes are released weekly on HBO and become available for streaming on HBO Max at the same time. The show typically drops at 9:00 PM Eastern Time (ET) / 8:00 PM Central Time (CT), but viewers should check their local HBO schedules for any updates.

You can watch the finale on the HBO cable channel or stream it on HBO Max. The series is also accessible through streaming services that include the HBO Max channel, such as Hulu with Max or the Disney+, Hulu, and Max bundle.

The Story So Far

The Chair Company follows William Ronald “Ron” Trosper, a project manager whose life is upended when a chair collapses under him during a major work presentation. This embarrassing moment sparks an obsession with the chair’s manufacturer, Tecca, leading him down a rabbit hole of local government corruption and corporate fraud.

The penultimate episode revealed that the conspiracy is very real. Ron discovered that Alice Quintana, an investor in his wife Barb’s new business, is at the center of a scheme to defraud taxpayers. Tecca has been swapping old chair parts and reselling them as new to government offices, with Alice using her position as an assistant purchasing director to embezzle funds. She has now invested that stolen money in Barb’s company, putting Ron in a difficult position: exposing the conspiracy would also destroy his wife’s dream.

Who’s Who in the Cast

The series features a talented ensemble cast, many of whom are expected to appear in the finale.

  • Tim Robinson as William Ronald “Ron” Trosper
  • Lake Bell as Barb Trosper, Ron’s wife
  • Sophia Lillis as Natalie Trosper, Ron’s daughter
  • Will Price as Seth Trosper, Ron’s son
  • Joseph Tudisco as Mike Santini, a security guard who helps Ron investigate
  • Lou Diamond Phillips as Jeff Levjman, the CEO of Ron’s company

Lou Diamond Phillips, who plays Ron’s boss Jeff, recently teased what to expect regarding Ron’s work suspension in the finale. He confirmed that the show will revisit the incident, saying:

โ€œWe will see the discussion around that fateful moment. A very painful rehashing of it. And the resolutionโ€ฆ Itโ€™s something that weโ€™ll have to revisit, but certainly it opens up a lot of different interactions between Jeff and Ron that I think people are really going to dig.โ€

A Successful First Season

The series, created by Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin, has proven to be a major success for HBO. It earned the title of HBOโ€™s top freshman comedy in platform history and was recently renewed for a second season. The show has been praised for its unique tone, blending cringe comedy with a gripping mystery.

Critics note that the show’s humor is distinct. One reviewer on IMDb summed it up by saying, โ€œIf you like Tim Robinson’s work you will love this. If you don’t like Tim Robinson’s work you will hate this.โ€ For fans of his previous work on I Think You Should Leave, The Chair Company has been a welcome addition to his catalog.

The finale will stream on HBO Max with a runtime of approximately 30 minutes. The series is rated TV-MA.
