The latest chapter of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has arrived, and it is already shaking things up for fans of the long-running manga series. The JOJOLands Chapter 33, titled “Usagi, Fraud, and Suspicion Part 1,” officially kicks off what the story calls “Act 2” with a surprising nine-month time jump. More importantly, the chapter brings back a familiar face from previous parts, and it is none other than the popular manga artist Rohan Kishibe.
The new chapter, which released on February 17, 2026, moves the story forward in a big way. While the first part of The JOJOLands focused on the diamond heist and the fight over the Lava Rock, this new chapter shifts gears to show where the characters are nearly a year later. And as always with JoJo, nothing is simple when money and family are involved.
The Story Moves Forward Nine Months
The chapter opens with a quiet scene that quickly turns strange. After the intense land exchange mission, the characters Key West, Laem Chabang, and Yokohama are shown being carried into a hospital on stretchers. Nurses are confused about who brought these patients in and why, but their questions are interrupted when they notice Lulu nearby .
Then the story jumps. Nine months have passed. The Joestar brothers’ mother, Barbara Ann, calls out to Dragona Joestar from their home, reminding him to take his keys and not leave them under the flowerpot anymore. Dragona complains that the keys are too heavy and he has no pockets .
Jodio Joestar is shown driving a car, with Dragona and Usagi Alohaoe as passengers. Usagi is staring at a restaurant called Saint Gentleman, excited about their french fries. Dragona grows increasingly nervous about Jodio’s driving and tries to give him advice. Jodio tells them both to shut up, and almost immediately, they crash into a pickup truck .
The people from the truck immediately get out and demand they come out of the vehicle. Jodio’s car is a cheap one from a junkyard and has no insurance. Jodio thinks they can just pay the driver money to make it go away, but Dragona points out that even though their family is wealthy, they do not have much actual cash on hand at the moment .
Usagi steps out to handle the situation. He pulls out footage from a dashcam that supposedly proves the pickup truck caused the accident, not Jodio. The truck passengers are shocked and confused. Usagi pressures them to admit fault and leave. Dragona and Jodio realize that Usagi used his Stand, THE MATTEKUDASAI, to alter the dashcam footage from both vehicles .
However, one of the truck passengers notices that the dent on their truck does not match what is shown in the video. Usagi quickly orders them to move their vehicle so the group can leave anyway .
A Serious Family Crisis for Usagi
The chapter then shifts focus to a completely different location. A woman is using her laptop at home and accidentally clicks a download link on a PDF file from the Hawaii State Hospital neurology department. This action infects her computer with a virus. A full-screen warning pops up with a loud alarm sound, claiming that turning off the power will cause data loss .
Her young daughter, Tori, walks in and asks what is happening. The woman, who is revealed to be Usagi’s mother, panics and calls the “support center” number shown in the warning message. She describes the warning icon and the alarm sound to the person on the phone .
The person on the other end claims it is an old type of virus. They ask for her email address and instruct her to click an icon to install an application. The alarm stops, and the person reassures her. But they then claim her personal information and passwords are still at risk, especially her bank and credit card details .
They offer a solution: the support center will send her $20 first. She then has to send that $20 back, followed by a $110 payment for repairs. After that, they ask for her bank account information to begin the process. Usagi’s mother hesitates but eventually agrees .
Later that night, Usagi returns to his apartment to find it completely empty .
The Gang Reunites With Bad News
Two days later, Dragona, Jodio, and Paco Laburantes gather at Meryl Mei Qi’s hideout inside the Iko Iko clothing store. Paco mentions he has found a job as a warehouse manager at the port, but only if he graduates from school. He briefly uses his Stand, THE HUSTLE, to steal Dragona’s phone, but Dragona snatches it back quickly .
Paco reveals that Charming Man has gone home. He wonders why Meryl has called them all together. Meryl proposes digging a secret tunnel to the hideout and repairing the bullet-ridden room, but she worries about construction workers leaking information if outsiders come in .
Suddenly, Paco is startled to find Usagi standing right behind him. He scolds him for sneaking in so quietly. But this Usagi looks completely different. He is clearly upset and announces he has something to say to everyone .
Usagi angrily demands to know about the profits he was promised from their earlier mission. He emphasizes that nine months have passed, and Meryl has given him no updates at all. He insists on getting his share from the Hualalai slope deal .
Paco scolds him for his tone, but Usagi stands his ground. He firmly believes he deserves that money. Meryl explains that while her company, Iko Iko, has legal ownership of the land, the property itself is currently under the control of the state and the military. The army is searching for evidence related to weapons production, and until that investigation is complete, the land cannot be freely bought or sold .
Meryl adds that since the Oahu land was transferred to Howler, Howler himself has disappeared. Even the FBI and military cannot find him. The Dolphin Bank has also suffered huge losses. Until authorities resolve the situation and grant approval, they cannot turn the land into cash, and this delay could stretch on for years .
Usagi is overwhelmed by Meryl’s explanation. He turns to leave. The others check his family’s bank account and find the balance is zero. This completely contradicts the $300,000 he earned from selling the watch and all his previous income .
Usagi explains that his mother took the money from the account. She has not come home since, and her phone is disconnected. She also took his younger sister Tori, who suffers from muscular dystrophy, with her. They have been gone for two days now. Usagi doubts the police will treat their disappearance as an emergency .
Meryl quickly deduces this is an online fraud case. She suggests someone stole the family’s money online and manipulated Usagi’s mother into cooperating. Meryl also tells Usagi that his apartment lease has been canceled, and utilities are about to be shut off. This indicates his mother was tricked into taking these steps as well .
Usagi struggles to accept that his mother fell for a scam. He questions why she still hasn’t come home .
Rohan Kishibe Returns to the Story
Meryl pretends to sympathize with Usagi, saying she would like to help. She then signals to Paco. Paco grabs Usagi by the neck and knocks him unconscious. Meryl orders the others to put something under him and let him sleep, claiming his agitation could get him killed .
With Usagi unable to act, Dragona asks Meryl what they should do. Meryl frames this as getting involved in Usagi’s private family matters. She asks the group if they are willing to participate .
Dragona feels sympathy for Usagi’s situation and wants to help him recover the money. Paco wants to find the criminals and punish them. Meryl reveals she has already gathered some information online. Besides stealing the bank account, someone made Usagi’s mother sign a legal agreement. This document states that if Tori dies, her organs can be donated .
Meryl points out that the family’s recent medical expenses likely made them targets for criminals. She assumes the family had money. She is skeptical about tracking the criminals through the internet. She warns that relying on her connections in the police cybercrime division could backfire if corrupt officers leak information about the investigation .
Dragona wonders if there is another way to track their whereabouts .
Paco then demands that Jodio state his position. Jodio hesitates at first and says he will follow whatever Dragona decides. This visibly upsets Dragona. But Jodio adds something else. He says he does not just want the $300,000 back. He wants to take everything the criminals have .
Then comes the moment fans have been waiting for. Jodio makes a phone call. The person who picks up is Rohan Kishibe. Rohan says he expected Jodio to call. He explains that he is currently in his studio in Japan. He guessed Jodio was calling to ask about the Lava Rock. He mentions that lava rots and is not eternal. He hints that Jodio might want another piece of Lava Rock. He also scolds Jodio for destroying his other Lava Rock sample .
Jodio assures his team that Rohan is their ally. The chapter ends with “To Be Continued” .
What Fans Are Saying About Chapter 33
The return of Rohan Kishibe has generated plenty of discussion among the JoJo community. Rohan first appeared in Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable and has since become one of the most recognizable characters in the series, even getting his own spin-off manga and anime adaptation, Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan.
Fans on forums have been reacting to the chapter’s developments. One reader on the MangaDex forums simply posted “Rohanโฆ” capturing the surprise of seeing the character again . Another fan noted, “It’s so nice to see them outside of a combat, acting so casual, friendly and even childish. Also, this whole scamming thing felt so real, like something you’d see in real life. I do wonder if Araki got scammed” .
The time jump and shift in focus have also caught attention. One forum user commented, “Team all star is back” . Another shared their thoughts: “My favorite special little guy Usagi is getting plot relevance, YIPPEE!!!” .
However, not every fan is completely on board with every choice. One reader expressed mixed feelings: “I guess Araki reconsidered having gang all be killers. Still I feel like leaving Key and Laem alive could have consequences. Assuming Key can remember anything with her catastrophic brain injury. Not a fan of Rohan coming back but I guess he is the only old world callback we have in this part” .

What This Means for The JOJOLands Going Forward
The introduction of “Act 2” and the nine-month time jump suggests that Hirohiko Araki is shifting the story into a new phase. The first part of The JOJOLands focused heavily on the heist, the introduction of the Lava Rock’s powers, and the immediate fallout. Now, the characters are dealing with the long-term consequences of their actions.
Usagi’s family crisis adds a personal stakes element to the story. His mother falling victim to an online scam feels very grounded and modern. It is a type of crime that readers can easily recognize from real life. This could be Araki’s way of showing how ordinary people can get caught up in schemes that are just as dangerous as Stand battles.
The return of Rohan Kishibe is significant for several reasons. He is the only major character from previous parts to appear directly in The JOJOLands so far. His knowledge of the Lava Rock and his Stand, Heaven’s Door, could prove extremely useful to Jodio’s group. But Rohan has never been someone who helps others without getting something in return. It remains to be seen whether he will truly act as an ally or if he has his own agenda.
The fact that Rohan mentions the Lava Rock rotting and not being eternal raises questions about the true nature of the rock. The group has been relying on its ability to draw valuable things to it. But if the rock itself is not permanent, then whatever wealth it brings might also be temporary. This could tie into Jodio’s original goal of becoming “filthy rich.”
The unresolved situation with the land and Howler also looms over everything. Meryl made it clear that the land cannot be sold until the authorities finish their investigation. That could take years. The group may need to find other ways to make money in the meantime, which could lead to more heists and adventures.
The JOJOLands Chapter 33 is now available through Ultra Jump in Japan. English translations are expected to follow shortly through official and fan translation sources. The next chapter will continue the story and reveal what happens after Jodio’s call to Rohan.
