The penultimate episode of The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2 arrived on April 3, 2026, and it did not hold back. Titled “Isia Moriendo Renascor” (Latin for “In death I am reborn”), Episode 7 takes the action to Paris where multiple plans come together in a deadly confrontation. The hour delivers major character moments and a shocking death that changes everything before the Season 2 finale next week.

The episode picks up with Nicholas Bell (David Morse) and Bailey (Angourie Rice) making their way to Paris. Hannah (Jennifer Garner) and Owen (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) are already there, trying to execute the final part of their plan to free themselves from the Campano crime family. But Paris becomes a pressure cooker as all the key players gather in one place.

Nicholas Reflects on His Dangerous Friendship

The episode gives David Morse significant screen time through flashbacks showing how Nicholas first met Frank Campano (John Noble). These scenes reveal how a business arrangement turned into a decades-long friendship. Nicholas sold out his morals to keep Frank’s favor, and now he questions whether those choices put his own family in danger.

Nicholas wants to believe Frank did not harm his daughter Kate. But he starts suspecting Teddy (Luke Kirby) might be responsible. Instead of waiting around, Nicholas decides to meet Frank directly and ask hard questions about his son’s actions.

Quinn Steps Into a Bigger Role

Quinn (Judy Greer) finds herself pulled deeper into the family business. Her brother Teddy is in serious trouble after Owen stole 5 million dollars in cash from his shipping container. Teddy has been working with an international crime syndicate led by Perec without telling Frank. Now the deadline is approaching and Teddy does not have the money.

Quinn goes to Frank with the truth about her brother’s mess. Rather than getting angry, Frank tells Quinn she should take charge. She initially resists, claiming she never wanted to be part of the illegal side of the family. But by the end of the episode, it becomes clear Quinn knows more than she has been letting on.

Hannah and Owen’s Plan Falls Apart

Hannah and Owen try to lure Teddy away from his father by sending fake texts that look like they come from Perec. They wait at a watch store in Paris, hoping to confront Teddy alone and use the stolen money as a bargaining chip. The goal is to get Teddy to leave their family alone for good.

But Quinn tracks down her brother first. When she learns that Perec has supposedly been texting Teddy, she gets suspicious. She spots Hannah nearby and blows up their cover. Quinn approaches Hannah directly, and the two women have a tense conversation. Quinn proves she is sharper than anyone gave her credit for.

The Hotel Lumineaux Confrontation

Everything comes to a head at the Hotel Lumineaux. Bailey arrives looking for her grandfather at the same time as Teddy. She realizes how dangerous the situation could become since Teddy still believes Nicholas is dead. Bailey sends an emergency text to Hannah.

Nicholas and Frank meet face to face. Nicholas reminds his old friend of past promises and pushes him to take full control back from Teddy. Frank agrees. When Teddy walks in, Frank tells his son he can no longer run the family empire because he is not capable. Teddy gets furious that his father sides with a lawyer over his own blood.

Frank presses Teddy about whether he tried to have Nicholas killed and whether he had anything to do with Kate’s death. Teddy says he did not kill Kate, but the episode leaves room for doubt.

A Shocking Death Changes Everything

Just when it seems like a new understanding might be reached, everything falls apart. A woman walks into the hotel, calls out Teddy’s name, and pulls out a gun. As she fires at Teddy, Frank jumps in front of his son. He takes multiple bullets.

Frank Campano dies at the hotel. The crime family patriarch is gone.

The shooter’s identity and who sent her remain unanswered questions heading into the finale. Teddy and Quinn are now wild cards. The Campano family’s future is completely uncertain.

What This Means for the Finale

With Frank dead, the power structure of the Campano family collapses. Teddy has proven he cannot handle the business. Quinn has shown she has the skills but never wanted the role. Someone else could also step in from outside.

The bigger question involves Kate’s murder. If Teddy did not kill her, then who did? The shooter at the hotel suggests there may be another player that no one saw coming. A common enemy could unite everyone against a new threat.

Episode 8, the Season 2 finale, arrives on Apple TV+ on April 10, 2026. The episode is titled “Souvenir d’enfants” (French for “Childhood memories”). Viewers in the US can watch starting April 9 at 9:00 PM ET (6:00 PM PT). UK viewers get it at 2:00 AM on April 10. Indian viewers can watch at 7:30 AM IST on April 10.
