A new teaser for the Disney+ series “The Manipulated“ shows Ji Chang Wook as an ordinary man whose life is torn apart after being framed for a terrible crime, with Doh Kyung Soo revealed as the mastermind pulling the strings. The series is set to premiere on November 5, 2025.
The Story of a Life Broken
The plot of “The Manipulated” follows a man named Tae Joong, played by Ji Chang Wook, who is living a calm and ordinary life. He works hard as a deliveryman while chasing his dreams. His world is turned upside down when he is wrongfully imprisoned for a horrible crime he did not commit. A screencard in the teaser with the words, “That day, my life was broken into pieces,” highlights the moment everything changes for him. While in prison, a desperate Tae Joong says, “I donโt really know why this is happening to me,” showing his confusion and pain. He later discovers that his downfall was not an accident but a deliberate plan orchestrated by a mysterious man named Yo Han, played by Doh Kyung Soo. Fueled by anger, Tae Joong sets out on a path of bloody revenge.
A Chilling Villain and a Quest for Vengeance
The teaser introduces Doh Kyung Soo’s character, Yo Han, as the calculated and cold manipulator behind Tae Joong’s suffering. Yo Han is seen watching Tae Joong with a sharp gaze, and at one point, he gives a wicked smile as he says, “Calling me was the right thing to do.” This marks Doh Kyung Soo’s first time playing a full villain role, and his performance aims to be a chilling highlight of the series. On the other side, Ji Chang Wook’s Tae Joong transforms from an everyday citizen into a man driven by revenge. The teaser is filled with intense action, including car chases and large explosions, showing the length of his pursuit. He delivers an angry warning to his enemy: “Just wait a little, I’ll find you soon.”
