The cast of CBS’s hit drama Tracker is expanding just as the current season moves toward its finale. Two new actors have joined the show in recurring roles. Kathleen Robertson, known for Swimming with Sharks, and Mark Engelhardt, from American Horror Story: Asylum, will be seen alongside star Justin Hartley.

The news comes as the series, about survivalist and reward seeker Colter Shaw, continues its third season. This season has already seen changes to the team around Colter, making these new additions part of an ongoing evolution for the show.

Who Are the New Characters in Tracker?

The new actors will bring fresh dynamics to the series with characters that have their own secrets and motives.

Kathleen Robertson plays Maxine, a successful attorney from a major law firm. She approaches Fiona Rene’s character, lawyer Reenie Greene, with an offer of work on a class action lawsuit. However, reports suggest Maxine’s proposal might not be as straightforward as it seems.

“It quickly becomes clearโ€ฆ that Maxine may have an entirely different game that she’s playing,” describes a report on the character.

Mark Engelhardt will portray Emile Lang. Described as a cold, calculating, and methodical man, Emile operates by his own personal moral code. The exact nature of his connection to Colter’s cases or his team is still under wraps.

Why New Faces Are Joining Tracker Now

The arrival of Robertson and Engelhardt follows the departure of several main cast members. Actors Eric Graise (Bobby) and Abby McEnany (Velma) did not return for Season 3 after their characters were written out. This left Hartley and Fiona Rene as the last original series regulars from the core team.

Showrunner Elwood Reid has spoken about the deliberate choice to evolve the show’s formula. He explained that the goal is to avoid having supporting characters become simple “phone-a-friend” contacts for Colter when he needs information. Instead, the writers aim to build substantial stories for the people in Colter’s world.

The introduction of new characters like Maxine is part of that plan. Reid mentioned that as Reenie expands her law practice, new characters would naturally come into the fold.

What This Means for Colter Shaw’s Story

Tracker follows Justin Hartley’s Colter Shaw, a lone-wolf survivalist who travels the country using his tracking skills to solve mysteries for rewards. While each episode typically features a standalone case, a larger story about Colter’s fractured family runs through the series.

Season 2 ended with major revelations about his father’s death, leaving Colter to wrestle with hard truths about his family’s history. Season 3 has seen him trying to move past that while focusing on his work.

The new characters are expected to weave into both the weekly cases and the personal lives of the main cast. Maxine’s connection is directly to Reenie’s professional world, while Emile Lang’s calculated nature suggests he could be either a formidable ally or a new obstacle for Colter.

Tracker Season 3 Schedule and How to Watch

Season 3 of Tracker premiered on October 19, 2025. The season is notably longer than previous ones, with a total of 22 episodes ordered.

New episodes air every Sunday night on CBS. The show’s regular time slot is 8:00 PM Eastern Time (ET), though it has occasionally been delayed to 8:30 PM ET due to NFL football runover.

The season is currently approaching its fall finale. Episode 9, titled “Good Trouble,” airs Sunday, December 14, 2025. After this episode, the show is expected to go on a mid-season break before returning with the rest of its 22 episodes in 2026.
