The latest episode of Tracker placed Colter Shaw in the middle of a true crime nightmare. “Angel,” which aired on November 23, 2025, saw the survivalist hunting for a missing crime scene cleaner whose hobby of investigating murders led her directly into the hands of a serial killer.
The case began when Colter was hired to find Margo Webster, an employee of BioZone Cleaning who vanished after becoming obsessed with a recent job. Her boss, Ruth, offered a $10,000 reward for her safe return. Colter’s investigation quickly revealed that Margo was a passionate true crime fan, using a second phone to communicate with an online group dedicated to solving cold cases.
The Investigation
After finding Margo’s abandoned car and her personal phone, Colter followed a lead to a location where police had discovered a body. The victim was not Margo, but the situation drew the attention of another observer, a man named Gunther. Colter tracked Gunther to a makeshift headquarters filled with crime scene photos and evidence boards.
There, he learned that Margo was part of a trio of amateur sleuths, including Gunther, a freelance crime scene photographer, and Eddie, a collector of crime scene memorabilia. The group believed that the last case Margo worked onโthe deaths of an elderly couple named the Hardensโwas not an accident, but murder.
The three men went to the Harden house to investigate. Colter determined that Mort Harden had been dragged upstairs and thrown down the stairs to his death. His wife, Nancy, who was bedbound, was then left to starve. Most disturbingly, they found a hidden room with food containers, suggesting the killer had watched Nancy die over several days.
“Colter believes the killer took Mort upstairs and pushed him down. Then he sat in the secret room and watched Nancy starve to death.”

Connecting the Killer’s Signature
A crucial piece of evidence was a drawing of angel wings found on the secret room’s door. Gunther cross-referenced the symbol with his own crime scene database and found it connected multiple deaths over the past 25 years. All the victims were caregivers and their patients, and all were clients of the Vorhees Physical Therapy Center.
At the therapy center, Colter found a flyer for another recent death that featured the same angel wings. An employee mentioned the flyer was made by a coworker named Francis Gable.
While Colter was piecing this together, scenes showed that Margo was alive but held captive by Francis. He had tied her up and was holding her at his home, where he had also kept the mummified bodies of his own mother and brother for decades.
The “Angel of Mercy’s” Motive
Colter broke into Francis’s home and discovered the horrifying scene in the basement. Randy and Mel provided the backstory: Francis had a disabled brother, and his mother devoted all her time to his care. Francis felt neglected and came to believe that the bond between a caregiver and patient was a curse, trapping both in a life of suffering.
He saw himself as an “Angel of Mercy,” killing patients and their caregivers to end what he perceived as their misery. His spree had gone undetected for 25 years.
Colter realized Francis was keeping Margo alive to force her to lead him to her friends, Eddie and Gunther. He raced to their location as Francis arrived with Margo.
The Confrontation and Rescue
Colter found Margo tied up in Francis’s car and had her call 911. He then rushed inside to find Francis attacking Gunther and Eddie. A physical fight ensued, during which Francis nearly overpowered Colter. To stop the killer, Colter picked up a pair of scissors and stabbed Francis in the chest.
Police and paramedics arrived on the scene. Margo was reunited with her friends, and Ruth gratefully paid Colter the reward money. The episode concluded with the amateur sleuths safe and the long-running series of murders finally brought to an end.
