The final season of Turn of the Tide arrived on Netflix on April 10, 2026. The Portuguese crime drama, also known as Rabo de Peixe, wraps up its story with six intense episodes. The show follows four friends from a small fishing village whose lives changed forever after a cocaine shipment washed up on their shores. Season three picks up three years later, with Eduardo getting out of prison and finding his home island in deeper trouble.

Here is a complete guide to the cast and characters bringing this final chapter to life.

José Condessa Returns as Eduardo

José Condessa leads the series as Eduardo, the young fisherman who started this whole mess. In season three, Eduardo finishes a three-year prison sentence for a crime he did not commit. He took the blame for Silvia, who killed the drug lord Fagner in season two. When Eduardo returns to Rabo de Peixe, he finds his town under attack from powerful outside forces. Economic and political interests threaten to push families out and destroy the fishing industry that keeps the island alive.

The prison time has changed Eduardo. He is harder, angrier, and ready to fight back. He creates a secret group called the Night Vigilantes to protect his community and take down the corrupt system. Condessa brings a layered performance as a man caught between being a victim and someone willing to cross lines for justice.

Rodrigo Tomás Plays Rafael

Rodrigo Tomás returns as Rafael, Eduardo’s loyal friend. Rafael has tried to build a normal life while Eduardo was away. He works as a tour operator and coaches a local sports team. He and Silvia bought a boat together on loan to start their small business. But Rafael quickly sees that Eduardo is not the same person who went to prison. The old friendship gets tested as the stakes get higher. Rafael eventually agrees to join the Night Vigilantes, even though he has more to lose now.

Helena Caldeira as Silvia

Helena Caldeira plays Silvia, the mother of Eduardo’s child and the person who actually killed Fagner. Silvia spent season two trying to rebuild her life from nothing. She now runs the tour boat business with Rafael and raises her son Nuno. But the guilt of what happened and her connection to Eduardo pull her back into danger. Silvia is tough and resourceful, but she also wants to protect her child from the violent world Eduardo is bringing back to her doorstep.

André Leitão as Carlinhos

André Leitão plays Carlinhos, the fourth member of the friend group. Carlinhos struggled with addiction in earlier seasons. By season three, he has taken a singing job on a ship headed to Brazil. But things do not go as planned. He finds himself stuck in a contract he cannot easily break. Carlinhos has always been the most vulnerable of the four friends, and his journey in the final season shows how far he has come and how much further he still needs to go.

Returning Cast Members

Several familiar faces come back for the final season.

Kelly Bailey returns as Bruna, who now runs an old theater that once belonged to Grandma Rosa. Maria João Bastos is back as Inspectora Frias. She got suspended from the police force and spends her time searching for her missing daughter Mariana, who disappeared in season two. Salvador Martinha, Afonso Pimentel, and Victoria Guerra also reprise their roles.

Other returning cast members include João Pedro Vaz as Banha, Pêpê Rapazote as Uncle Joe, Adriano Carvalho as Jeremias, Rafael Morais as Morcela, and Luisa Cruz as Dona.

New Faces Join the Final Season

Joaquim de Almeida joins the cast as João Canto Moniz, the main antagonist of season three. Almeida is known to global audiences for his roles in Fast & Furious 5, Desperado, and Behind Enemy Lines. His character Moniz represents the political and economic corruption threatening to destroy Rabo de Peixe. He becomes the main target of Eduardo’s Night Vigilantes.

Ângelo Rodrigues and Inês Castel-Branco also join the cast this season, adding new layers to the final conflict.

What to Expect From the Final Season

Season three has six episodes, each running about 45 minutes. The story follows Eduardo and his friends as they form the Night Vigilantes, a secret group operating in the shadows to fight back against the powerful people destroying their home. The line between right and wrong gets harder to see as the group’s actions become more extreme.

The show is based on a real event that happened in Rabo de Peixe in 2001, when a boat carrying a huge amount of cocaine sank off the coast of the Azores. The series uses that real-life starting point to tell a fictional story about friendship, loyalty, and the desperate choices people make when they have nothing.

Augusto Fraga created the series and co-wrote it with Hugo Gonçalves and Tiago R. Santos. Patrícia Sequeira co-directed the final season with Fraga. The show is produced by Ukbar Filmes and RB Filmes.

All six episodes of Turn of the Tide season three are now streaming on Netflix in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, India, and worldwide.
