The series introduces a fresh take on the character while keeping the core themes of friendship and being true to yourself.

Meet the Characters and Cast
The series follows Vampirina “Vee” Hauntley, a 14-year-old vampire with a big passion for music. She makes the brave decision to leave her home in Transylvania to attend a performing arts boarding school called Wilson Hall. Living among humans for the first time, she must keep her vampire identity a secret while chasing her dreams.
Vee is played by Kenzi Richardson. She is joined by a group of friends and rivals at school:
- Jiwon Lee plays Sophie Choi, Vee’s kind and nervous roommate who works as a DJ.
- Shaun Dixon plays Elijah, Vee’s crush who has a major secret of his ownโhe is a descendant of the famous vampire-hunting Van Helsing family.
- Milo Maharlika plays Demi, a 600-year-old ghost sent by Vee’s father to be her overzealous protector.
- Faith Hedley plays Britney Hightower, a talented and competitive legacy student at the school who becomes Vee’s frenemy.
The show also features a recurring cast, including Kate Reinders and Jeff Meacham as Vee’s vampire parents, Oxana and Boris, and Kim Coles as Dean Merriweather.
A Secret Identity and Forbidden Friendship
The main plot of the series revolves around Vee’s efforts to hide her true nature as a vampire while pursuing her love for music. This is challenging enough, but her situation becomes even more complicated for two key reasons.
First, her overprotective father sends Demi, a well-meaning but clumsy ghost, to watch over her. Demi’s attempts to keep Vee safe often lead to more problems. Second, and even more dangerous, Vee finds herself drawn to a boy in her class, Elijah, who is secretly a Van Helsing. Their growing friendship creates a classic star-crossed dynamic, as their families are natural enemies.
The official series synopsis states it follows “a tween vampire girl who leaves the safety of her Transylvania home to attend a performing arts boarding school in the human community.”
