Park Bo Gum stars as a former Olympic boxer turned rookie cop in JTBC‘s new drama “Good Boy.” The show’s first teaser reveals his chaotic first day on the job, clashes with colleagues, and a mission to bring justice.

The drama follows a group of former national athletes who become police officers through a special recruitment program. Alongside Park Bo Gum, Kim So Hyun plays a former shooting champion, while Lee Sang Yi, Heo Sung Tae, and Tae Won Suk round out the team.

In the teaser, Yoon Dong Joo (Park Bo Gum) returns to his hometown but faces hostility from fellow officers. He gets dragged into a disciplinary hearing immediately. His new boss, Go Man Sik (Heo Sung Tae), hopes to solve a big case but Dong Joo ruins his plans on day one.

Despite setbacks, Dong Joo refuses to back down. After a hit-and-run suspect humiliates him, he vows to catch the criminal. The teaser shows him grinning confidently, ready for action. His energy contrasts with Ji Han Na (Kim So Hyun), who bluntly shuts him down when he tries to be friendly.

The team’s dynamic is messy but entertaining. Internal affairs officer Kim Jong Hyun (Lee Sang Yi) has an awkward past with Dong Joo, hinting at a possible love triangle. Meanwhile, Go Man Sik yells at Dong Joo constantly but still protects him when things get dangerous.

The production team says the first episode will be fast-paced and action-packed. They promise a mix of comedy, drama, and intense moments as the characters face unexpected challenges.

“Yoon Dong Joo’s first day on the job will trigger a whirlwind of unpredictable incidents that will quickly heighten the characters’ emotional stakes and relationships.”

“Good Boy” premieres on May 31 at 10:40 p.m. KST on JTBC. It will also stream on Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, and TVING in select regions.

Fans are excited to see Park Bo Gum in a bold new role. His intense training for the character—including daily boxing and workouts—shows his dedication.

“I portrayed Yoon Dong Joo with the belief that, unlike those who act without conscience and break the rules, his character would pursue justice selflessly and protect people with good hearts.”

Kim So Hyun’s character, Ji Han Na, has her own struggles. Once a beloved athlete, she quit shooting after public criticism and personal setbacks. Now, she joins the police force to start over.

The drama’s mix of action, comedy, and emotional depth has drawn comparisons to hits like “Vincenzo” and “The Fiery Priest.” With a strong cast and sharp writing, it could be the next big K-drama.
