BTS member Jungkook once revealed his ideal type of girlfriend, and it’s none other than the celebrated soloist IU. The revelation took place on the popular SBS entertainment show Flower Crew, and has remained a fan favorite ever since.

In a 2016 episode of Flower Crew, while sitting in a car, host Ahn Jung Hwan asked Jungkook if he had a girlfriend. Jungkook replied that he did not, leading Ahn Jung Hwan to inquire if there was someone he admired. Jungkook then shyly mentioned,

“I have an ideal type.”

When pressed for details, Jungkook blushed and named,

“IU sunbaenim.”

This candid moment quickly went viral and is still widely shared among fans. Jungkook has consistently shown admiration for IU, the singer of “LILAC” and “Love Wins All,” over the years.

In a subsequent interview with international media, when asked about his Hollywood crushes, Jungkook cleverly sidestepped the question, leading fans to appreciate his loyalty to IU. Many fans have even expressed their desire for a collaboration between Jungkook and IU.

As of now, IU is in a relationship with actor Lee Jong Suk, while Jungkook’s personal life remains private.

On the professional front, Jungkook is fulfilling his mandatory military service, having enlisted in December 2023. He is expected to be discharged in June 2025, alongside his bandmate Jimin.
