BTS members are often celebrated for their deep brotherhood, but even the closest friends experience moments of tension. This was evident during the group’s Burn The Stage tour when a heated argument broke out between BTS V and Jin over a choreography position. The disagreement, which left V in tears, was ultimately resolved with the intervention of their leader RM.
The Incident Unfolds
In 2018, BTS released a docu-series titled Burn The Stage, documenting the 300-day journey of their sold-out The Wings Tour. Episode 4 of the series offered a glimpse into a rare moment of conflict within the group. As BTS was preparing for the final leg of their South America tour, tensions flared in the dressing room.
During a discussion about improving their performance, BTS V pointed out what he believed to be a mistake in Jin’s stage positioning during their Spring Day performance. V, also known as the singer of FRI(END)S, told his older bandmate, “You need to move faster. Before you finish your part, you need to be in one, no matter what.”
However, Jin did not take kindly to the criticism. He responded strongly, asserting that he had been running as fast as he could. The exchange quickly escalated, with both members unable to reach an agreement. To Jin, who is older, V’s comments felt disrespectful, while V tried to clarify that he was not complaining but merely making an observation.
RM’s Intervention and Resolution
As the argument continued, the situation grew increasingly tense. With only ten minutes remaining before their set, the other members grew concerned, particularly since V and Jin had to collaborate on stage despite their disagreement.
Sensing the urgency, RM, the group’s leader, stepped in to mediate. He urged both V and Jin to focus on the performance rather than their argument. By this time, V had become visibly emotional, shedding tears over the conflict. RM, known for his calm and caring demeanor, gave V a reassuring hug, helping to defuse the situation. Despite the earlier tension, the group went on to deliver a spectacular performance on stage.
After the show, the members came together to support BTS V and Jin, ensuring that the two reconciled before moving forward.
