When the Phone Rings Gets Good Ratings
When the Phone Rings, starring Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin, has seen its ratings go up. The drama is about two people who get married for practical reasons, but their relationship changes after something big happens.
On December 28, 2024, Nielsen Korea shared the TV ratings from the day before. The ninth episode of When the Phone Rings got an average nationwide rating of 6.4 percent. This is the highest it has been on a Friday, as the Saturday episodes have generally had more viewers.
The drama is based on a web novel called The Number You Have Dialed by Geon Eomul Nyeo. It tells the story of Baek Sa Eon and Hong Hui Ju, who are married but don’t have a close relationship. They got married for convenience and for three years, they have lived together without really talking or spending time together. They pretend to be a happy couple to other people.
The Fiery Priest Season 2 Ends Well
The Fiery Priest season 2, which is shown at the same time as When the Phone Rings, also had good ratings. The final episode got a rating of 10.9 percent. This drama was the most-watched show in its time slot across all channels for the whole week.
Kim Nam Gil plays Kim Hae Il, a priest who used to be a spy and is good at solving crimes. Kim Sung Kyun plays Goo Dae Young, who is a bit clumsy but very dedicated to his job. Honey Lee (also known as Lee Ha Nee) plays Park Kyung Sun, a prosecutor who was corrupt in the first season but has changed.
The new season also introduced a new character, Goo Ja Young, played by South Korean singer BIBI. She is a detective who works on drug cases and is very passionate about her work.
