South Korean netizens are showering a young IU fan with love after a heartwarming story about her alone first concert experience went viral.
During IU‘s recent “H.E.R.” concert in Seoul on March 9th, a fellow concertgoer shared a touching encounter with a young girl attending the show all by herself. The fan, who sat next to the child, described her as an elementary school student brimming with excitement for her first ever concert.
The kind stranger even helped the little fan gather her belongings after the show and said goodbye as she waited for someone to pick her up. But the story took an even sweeter turn when the fan discovered a note tucked inside the snack packet the girl had shared earlier.
The note, written by the girl’s mother, expressed her worry about sending her daughter alone. While she managed to snag a ticket for her child, the concert’s single-ticket purchase policy prevented her from attending herself. Despite her anxieties, the mother couldn’t bear to cancel the ticket seeing her daughter’s immense joy.
The note continued with a heartfelt plea to the audience for understanding, should the young fan make any mistakes due to her inexperience at concerts.
The letter in the packet reads as follows
“Hello, UAENA! This is the mother of the child who came to IU’s concert for the first time. It was lucky to get the ticket but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get the ticket for myself as the concert only allowed buying one ticket per person. There is another person who will accompany her but the setas are not close by.
To be honest, I was sickly worried about sending her off by herself. She is still young so I was worried about her being in danger or causing issues at the venue. But I couldn’t cancel the ticket because I saw how happy my daughter was. I did my best to teach her about concert etiquette. But I’m still worried because neither her mother nor father have been to a concert.
If my daughter makes a mistake, please don’t be upset and kindly let her know as she doesn’t know better. And if she did make a mistake, it’s because it’s her first time attending a concert. I’m sorry and am asking for your understanding. I hope it becomes an enjoyable show for everyone and thank you for reading a long letter.”
The story, along with the mother’s endearing note, has melted hearts online. Netizens are praising the child’s bravery and commending the supportive concert community. Many shared their emotions, touched by the mother’s love and the overall kindness of strangers.
This heartwarming story highlights the enduring power of music to connect people across generations and backgrounds, and serves as a beautiful reminder of the compassion that can blossom even among strangers united by a love for music.
