The dark comedy crime drama starring Jon Hamm is moving fast. Your Friends & Neighbors Season 2 Episode 3 will arrive on Apple TV+ on April 17, 2026. The episode is called “We Were Never Supposed to Get This Old”.
The last episode ended with a big moment. James Marsden‘s character Owen Ashe caught Coop stealing from his house. He has video proof. Now Coop has to deal with a neighbor who knows his secret.

What Happened at the End of Episode 2
Episode 2 put Coop in a dangerous spot. He broke into Ashe‘s house and stole a first edition of “The House of Mirth.” He thought he did a clean job. But Ashe was waiting for him. He showed Coop video proof of the theft.
James Marsden plays Owen Ashe, a billionaire who just moved to Westmont Village. He is not like the other rich people in town. He is smarter and more dangerous. Jon Hamm talked about Marsden joining the show.

Barney (Hoon Lee) is now part of Coop‘s robbery crew. He joined at the end of Episode 1. His wife Grace is pregnant with their third child. She wants him to work for her rich father. Barney hates that idea. But being a thief comes with its own problems.
Jon Hamm explained why Coop keeps making bad choices.
“Ashe’s discovery of Coop’s dealings is certainly a wrinkle that he was not expecting and has to manage in real time.”
The Growing Tension Between Coop and Ashe
The fight between Coop and Ashe is the main story of Season 2. Ashe has the biggest house in town. He knows how to find people’s weak spots. He has already gotten close to Sam. He showed up at Coop‘s circle of friends.
Episode 3 will likely show what kind of deal Ashe wants to make. Does he want money? Does he want Coop to do jobs for him? Or does he just enjoy having control over someone?
Coop is running out of options. His ex-wife Mel does not know about the stealing. His kids Tori (Isabel Gravitt) and Hunter (Donovan Colan) have no idea. If Ashe tells everyone, Coop loses everything.
