What Happened in Episode 5

Episode 5, which aired on August 4, 2026, centered on a television filming crew that arrived at the diving shop. The crew was working on a television special, and everyone was given strict instructions to behave properly. For Kohei and Iori, behaving properly is practically impossible.

Kohei was asked to disguise himself as the actor Ikegoshi because the real actor got injured. Kohei was reluctant at first, but Iori bribed him with the promise of an autograph from a famous voice actress. Kohei took the role but delivered a bizarre performance that threw the production into chaos.

During filming, Iori crossed paths with Ai, a beautiful actress working on the special. Their interaction went surprisingly well, and they seemed interested in each other. Unfortunately for Iori, Kohei had other plans.

Throughout the episode, Kohei repeatedly ruined every chance Iori had with Ai. He exposed Iori’s habit of stripping naked, refused to wear pants during filming, and created one awkward situation after another. Iori fought back by using a fake AI voice modeled after Kohei’s favorite voice actress to manipulate him into following orders. The absurd plan worked.

Then came the twist. Kohei admitted that he intentionally ruined Iori’s chances with Ai because he knows Aina has feelings for Iori. His actions were never meant to hurt Iori. He was trying to protect Aina’s feelings.

What to Expect in Episode 6

Episode 6 continues the Palau arc. The story follows Iori Kitahara, who has been living at the diving shop Grand Blue alongside his cousin Chisa Kotegawa. The season has moved the action to Palau, where Iori’s cousin enlisted him to help run a new dive shop.

The upcoming episode is expected to feature more of the chaotic humor the series is known for. With Iori remaining completely unaware of Aina’s feelings and Chisa’s relationship with him continuing to develop, the romantic chaos is set to become even more entertaining.

Why You Should Watch Grand Blue Dreaming

Grand Blue Dreaming stands out as one of the best comedy anime in recent years. The show balances absurd humor with genuine character moments. The third season introduces a fresh setting in Palau while keeping everything that made the series work.

The animation quality remains strong, and the voice cast delivers excellent performances. Yuma Uchida returns as Iori, Ryohei Kimura as Kohei, and Chika Anzai as Chisa. The new characters for the Palau arc add fresh energy to the show.

The opening theme “Natsuko” by Funky Monkey Babys and the ending theme “Hadaka no Mermaid” by Mameshiba no Taigun fit the show’s sun-soaked, high-energy mood perfectly.

With only seven episodes remaining after Episode 6, the season is building toward its conclusion. The Palau setting offers new diving locations, new characters, and new opportunities for the Peek-a-Boo club to create chaos.
