KI Entertainment announced on August 4 that ONF member E-Tion has been diagnosed with a partial rotator cuff tear after experiencing ongoing shoulder pain. The singer will now minimize physical movement and focus on recovery, with fan event performances temporarily replaced by live vocal stages.
The K-pop group ONF faces a temporary adjustment in their activities as member E-Tion deals with a shoulder injury. His agency, KI Entertainment, released an official statement on August 4, 2026, confirming that E-Tion underwent a detailed medical examination due to persistent shoulder pain and received a diagnosis of a partial rotator cuff tear.
Following medical advice, E-Tion will reduce strenuous movements and concentrate on treatment and recovery. The agency emphasized that the artist’s health remains their top priority and that they will continuously monitor his recovery progress while planning future activities.
Agency Announces Health Update and Performance Changes
KI Entertainment shared the news through ONF’s official fan community on August 4. The agency’s complete statement read:
Hello. This is the ONF management team. We are making an announcement regarding the state of ONF member E-Tion’s health. Due to persistent shoulder pain, member E-Tion underwent a detailed examination, and he was diagnosed with a partial rotator cuff tear. Therefore, in accordance with the doctor’s opinion, he will be minimizing strenuous movement while focusing on his recovery. As a result, performances at fan events will be replaced by live [vocal] performances for the time being. Because we consider our artist’s health our top priority, we will continuously monitor the progress of his recovery while planning future activities. We ask for fans’ generous understanding, and we ask that you give E-Tion your warm encouragement and support so that he can make a speedy recovery.
The agency further explained that performances scheduled during fan events will temporarily be replaced with live-stage formats, allowing E-Tion to participate without the physical demands of intense choreography. This adjustment ensures that he can remain present for fans while protecting his shoulder from further strain.
Understanding the Injury and Recovery Process
A rotator cuff tear involves damage to the tendons that stabilize the shoulder joint. A partial tear means the tendon is damaged but not completely severed. This type of injury commonly causes shoulder pain, weakness, and difficulty with overhead movements.
Many partial tears improve with conservative treatment, including physiotherapy, medications, and rest. The recovery period for such injuries typically ranges from several weeks to months, depending on the severity and the individual’s response to treatment.
ONF’s Recent Activities and Schedule Adjustments
ONF moved to KI Entertainment as a full group in March 2026 after their exclusive contract with WM Entertainment expired in January. The group released their second full-length album, “ONF: MY SELF,” in June 2026.
The group has been actively promoting their recent album and connecting with fans through various events. With E-Tion’s injury, the group will adjust their performances to accommodate his recovery needs. The agency confirmed that fan event performances will feature live vocal stages instead of full choreography for the time being.
