The press release emphasized that Khalifa would benefit from all procedural rights and guarantees provided by the Code of Criminal Procedure, including the presumption of innocence.
In Romania, cannabis is classified as a “risk drug” and is illegal for both recreational and medical use. Possession of cannabis can lead to severe legal consequences, including up to 10 years in prison.
