Is it for real?

BTS‘s Suga was recently caught in a drunk driving controversy. He was caught driving an electric scooter after drinks. Police reports later reported a 0.227% alcohol percentage as a result of his breathalyzer test. Statistics report that 0.2% is close to blackout drunk. The vehicle Suga drove also failed to fit into the same personal mobility device category as electric kickboards and slower scooters, putting it akin to drunk driving a car. CCTV footage also showed that he had driven on the main road with cars.

As the matter grows bigger, many are calling for his withdrawal from the group.

The Public Calls For BTS’s Suga To Leave Group After Damning CCTV Footage Of His DUI

On the other hand, some netizens have started an alarming challenge trend called the #SugaChallenge, involving drinking in their own cars.

The challenge is absolutely against the law, violating traffic laws on reckless driving and DUIs.

These netizens are encouraging other fans to drink before they drive show show their solidarity for the star.

Countless examples are being published to X.

Of course, the authenticity of the challenge and these attempts are being questioned. Some believe that it is sarcasm, while others are suspicious that fans are trying to take the attention off Suga’s controversy, the posts still serve to promote reckless behavior and should not be taken lightly.

  • Ah, seems like this is sarcasm, phew. But it’s true that it still creates negative influence.
  • This is too much.
  • They’re glamorizing DUIs and trying to say that it’s not a big deal to hit 0.22%. What a positive influence!
  • Sometimes I really don’t know if they’re mocking him or if they’re actually fans because their fandom has a habit of lying and making things up.
  • He should’ve acted better on the regular. Now, he’s being mocked with just a single mistake and everything he’s built up is crumbing at once…
  • It’s not fans, but people mocking them. Anyway, it’s still harmful.
  • This is really harmful.
