The actors Yoo Jae Myung and Yoon Se Ah, who previously left a powerful impression on viewers with their ill-fated romance in the hit drama “Stranger,” are set to share the screen once again. They will star in the upcoming Korean drama Love Me,” a remake of a Swedish series, where they will portray characters who help each other heal from profound loss. The series is scheduled to premiere on December 19, 2025, on the network JTBC.

The Story of “Love Me”

“Love Me” is based on the acclaimed Swedish television series ร„lska mig created by Josephine Bornebusch. The drama tells the story of a somewhat selfish but relatable family as each member begins their own journey of love and personal growth.

Yoo Jae Myung plays the character Seo Jin Ho, the head of a neighborhood office. He is a man who hides an exhausting and burdensome life behind a smiling face. After taking voluntary retirement, he decides to splurge on a luxury trip to mark a hopeful new beginning, only to face the darkest moment of his life at his destination.

It is there he meets Jin Ja Young, played by Yoon Se Ah. She is a sociable and romantic tour guide who understands human warmth better than anyone and firmly believes in it. She is described as a cheerful character who started a relationship with a man after losing her husband ten years prior. Through her, Jin Ho slowly begins to rediscover the emotions he had forgotten.

The production team behind the drama shared high praise for the lead actors, stating: > “Yoo Jae Myung and Yoon Se Ah are actors who understand the nuances of each otherโ€™s emotions more precisely than anyone. With just a brief exchange of glances, the temperature of a scene changes.” They added that their richly layered performances will “warmly knock on viewers’ hearts.”

A Powerful On-Screen Reunion

This collaboration is a notable reunion for Yoo Jae Myung and Yoon Se Ah. They previously worked together on the popular tvN drama “Stranger” (also known as “Secret Forest”), where they portrayed a married couple. Their roles in that series were memorable as the only romantic couple in a heavily genre-driven show, and they were regarded by fans as a ‘true love’ couple.

Their new project, “Love Me,” will allow them to explore a different kind of relationship, focusing on a profound love that leads to mutual healing. The newly released stills from the drama show Jin Ho and Ja Young sitting face-to-face for their first meal together, hinting at an awkward yet subtle tension that has sparked curiosity about how this encounter will change their lives.

The Wider World of “Love Me”

The “Love Me” franchise has seen international success. The original Swedish series, which aired from 2019 to 2020, was previously adapted into an Australian version. That series, which starred Hugo Weaving and Bojana Novakovic, premiered in 2021 and focused on a family navigating love and loss after the death of their matriarch.

The Korean adaptation will join this list, developed for JTBC by director Jo Young-Min and writers Park Eun-Young and Park Hee-Kwon. While Yoo Jae Myung and Yoon Se Ah’s storyline is a central focus, the drama will also feature other main characters. The cast includes Seo Hyun-Jin as Seo Joon-Kyeong, a single obstetrician-gynecologist who appears perfect but is secretly lonely, having run away from her family seven years earlier after a traumatic accident.

“Love Me” will air two consecutive episodes every Friday, starting from its premiere on December 19, 2025.
