What Happened in Episode 9
The previous episode focused heavily on Na-hyun’s emotional journey. She discovered that her deceased sister So-hyun was the spirit possessing Yi-rang. This led to a bittersweet reunion where Na-hyun spent precious time with her sister, visiting amusement parks, favorite spots, and going camping together.
The episode also showed Na-hyun confronting her family’s painful past. Her mother asked for forgiveness for how she treated Na-hyun after So-hyun’s death. Na-hyun revealed she always believed So-hyun died because of her, but her parents helped her understand it was never her fault.
Meanwhile, Do-kyung’s father Byeong-gil returned to Taebaek and took his son to meet Yi-rang’s mother, making their already tense relationship more complicated.
The episode closed with So-hyun finally passing on after saying goodbye to Na-hyun. Yi-rang then offered Na-hyun a shared office space, which she accepted for the time being.
The New Case in Episode 10
Episode 10 introduces a mysterious new client. An elderly vegetable seller named Chae Jeong-hee (played by Gil Hae-yeon) shows up nervously outside the law firm’s door. She reveals her troubles stem from her late husband, who passed away after suffering from dementia.
Veteran actor Lee Deok-hwa makes a special appearance as Kang Dong-sik, the deceased husband who worked as a shoemaker. The preview shows Kang Dong-sik struggling with memory loss, saying lines like “My head hurts” and “What was this again?”
The case centers on a will left by Kang Dong-sik. Yi-rang and Na-hyun argue there is no reason to manipulate the document. But Yang Do-kyung (Kim Kyung-nam) from the giant Taebaek law firm sharply questions its authenticity in court, asking “Who exactly wrote this will?” The tension rises when Taebaek’s chairman Yang Byeong-il (Choi Kwang-il) watches the trial from the audience seats.
Yi-rang and Na-hyun as a Legal Team
This episode marks the first time the two lawyers work together officially. Na-hyun supports Yi-rang with logical arguments, stating that the client proved the handwriting on the will is authentic. Yi-rang uses his ability to see and communicate with spirits, trying to get clues from Kang Dong-sik’s ghost.
The preview shows a tense moment where Yi-rang pleads, “Right now, it’s really not possible!” to stop Kang Dong-sik’s spirit from speaking out during a critical court moment. This situation mirrors what happened in Episode 1, when Yi-rang got embarrassed after being possessed in court.
Production Team Comments
The drama’s production team shared their thoughts on Episode 10.
“Episode 10 is meaningful as Shin Yi-rang and Han Na-hyun coordinate their steps as ‘roof-sharing partners’ for the first time. We hope viewers look forward to the synergy of the two lawyers’ collaboration. Additionally, veteran actor Lee Deok-hwa’s passionate performance and the shocking truth hidden in the will will deliver emotion and catharsis to the audience.”
