The creator of the hit HBO drama Euphoria is finally speaking up about the show’s future. With the long-awaited Euphoria Season 3 premiere just days away, the big question on every fan’s mind is whether there will be more episodes after this. Sam Levinson, the man behind the series, has given a direct answer, and it looks like the show might be wrapping up for good.

Levinson Admits He Has No Plans for Another Season

Levinson explained that his main focus right now is making sure the third season ends on a high note. He is still working on the final episodes, cutting episodes 7 and 8, and putting on the finishing touches. He shared that he wants to deliver a strong finish more than anything else. For him, every season gets treated like it could be the last one, so he pours everything into it while he can.

This news comes as HBO has not officially canceled the show, but the signs are pointing toward a natural ending.

Zendaya Tells Fans That Closure Is Coming

The show’s lead actress and executive producer, Zendaya, has also added fuel to the fire. During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, she was asked directly if Euphoria Season 3 would be the final chapter.

Zendaya did not hesitate. She said she believes it is the end, adding that “closure is coming” for the characters and the audience. Her words carry a lot of weight because she plays the central role of Rue and knows more about the show’s direction than almost anyone else.

For fans who have been watching since 2019, this confirmation from the star is a strong signal to prepare for the series finale.

Why the Cast Thinks the Show Is Ending

Several factors make a fourth season very unlikely. The main reason is the sheer difficulty of getting the entire cast back together. Over the past four years, the young stars of Euphoria have become massive Hollywood names.

Zendaya is busy with blockbuster movies and fashion deals. Sydney Sweeney has become one of the most talked-about actresses in the world. Jacob Elordi just won major awards for other films. Hunter Schafer and Alexa Demie are also in high demand. Scheduling a season 4 shoot would be a nightmare for producers.

There have also been tragic losses. Angus Cloud, who played Fezco, passed away in 2023. Eric Dane, another key cast member, also recently passed away. Losing these important parts of the Euphoria family makes continuing the story very difficult emotionally and logistically.

The Season 3 Time Jump Changes Everything

Euphoria Season 3 does not pick up where season 2 left off. Instead, the story jumps forward five years. The characters are no longer in high school. Rue is dealing with adult problems involving drug cartels, Nate is running a business, and Cassie is planning a wedding.

This large time jump feels like a final chapter move. Sam Levinson wanted to show where these characters end up as adults rather than dragging out their teenage years. The new season is described as more of a “psychosexual thriller” with a cinematic feel, partly thanks to composer Hans Zimmer stepping in to help with the music.

Composer Labrinth Leaves the Show

In another sign of big changes, the musician Labrinth has confirmed he is leaving Euphoria. His music was a huge part of the show’s identity, creating the emotional beats for seasons 1 and 2.

Labrinth posted a strong message on social media criticizing the industry and the show, saying he was “done”. Sam Levinson admitted he didn’t know exactly why the split happened, calling Labrinth someone who “built the foundation of the sound of Euphoria”. With the original composer gone, it is another piece of the original show that will not return.
