Details of the 2006 Car Accident
Lee Min Ho recounted the 2006 accident that occurred while he was traveling to Gangwon with Jung Il Woo. Their car collided with another vehicle driven by a drunk driver who crossed the center line. The accident resulted in fatalities for all passengers and the driver of the other car.
Lee Min Ho suffered severe injuries, including torn cartilage and broken thighbones. He spent nearly a year in the hospital, with over seven months dedicated to physical recovery. He described his time in the hospital, saying,
“I was unable to do anything but lie down.”
Jung Il Woo was also injured in the accident and was later diagnosed with a brain aneurysm.
Lee Min Ho’s Feelings About Jung Il Woo’s Success
Jung Il Woo recovered faster than Lee Min Ho and soon found success with the drama High Kick. Lee Min Ho openly discussed his mixed feelings about his friend’s success during this difficult time. He said,
“I wanted to cheer for him and celebrate his success wholeheartedly, but part of me felt impatient. I wanted to be recognized and make my mark in society, too. I wondered why I couldn’t fully celebrate for my friend and felt conflicted.”
