Beyonce has set a new record with her Cowboy Carter Tour, which is now the highest-grossing country music tour in history. The tour earned over $400 million from 32 sold-out shows across North America and Europe. This achievement makes Beyonce the first Black artist and first woman to have two tours earn more than $400 million each.
The tour began in April 2025 and ended in July 2025, featuring special appearances by Jay-Z, Destiny’s Child, and country singer Shaboozey. Beyonce also made history as the first Black woman to win Best Country Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards for her album Cowboy Carter.
Record-Breaking Tour Numbers
The Cowboy Carter Tour grossed $407.6 million and sold 1.6 million tickets in just three months. It broke more than 40 venue records, including at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where Beyonce earned $70.3 million from five shows. In London, six shows at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium brought in $61.6 million.
This tour follows her Renaissance World Tour in 2023, which earned $579 million. Beyonce is now the first American artist to have two tours cross the $400 million mark, joining only Coldplay, The Rolling Stones, and Ed Sheeran in this achievement.
Special Moments and Surprise Guests
The final show in Las Vegas featured a Destiny’s Child reunion with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. They performed hits like “Bootylicious” and “Lose My Breath”. Jay-Z also joined Beyonce on stage for “Crazy in Love”, while Shaboozey performed “Sweet Honey Buckiin’”.
Beyonce’s daughters, Blue Ivy and Rumi, appeared during some performances. The tour included high-tech stage designs, flying props like a golden mechanical horse, and custom-made outfits from top designers like Versace and Burberry.
Cultural Impact and Country Music Debate
Beyonce faced criticism when she first entered the country music scene. Her performance at the 2016 Country Music Association Awards received racist comments online. However, her success with Cowboy Carter has brought attention to Black contributions to country music.
The album’s lead single, “Texas Hold ‘Em”, made Beyonce the first Black woman to top the Hot Country Songs chart. Surveys show that many young listeners started exploring country music because of her album.
Comparing With Other Major Tours
While Beyonce’s tour set a country music record, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour remains the highest-grossing tour ever with over $2 billion in earnings. However, the Cowboy Carter Tour reached $400 million faster than any other tour in history, doing it in just 32 shows.
