BLACKPINK Comeback Rumored for June 2025; Fans Demand More Promotions and Transparency

BLACKPINK might finally return with new music this June after nearly three years without a group release. Reports say the K-pop stars filmed a music video earlier this month, but fans are upset over the lack of official updates from YG Entertainment.

The group’s last album, Born Pink, came out in September 2022. Since then, members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa have focused on solo careers. Now, rumors suggest they will drop a new song before their DEADLINE world tour starts in July.

YG Entertainment has not shared any teasers, release dates, or album details. This silence has made fans question if the comeback is really happening. Many expected more promotion for one of K-pop’s biggest acts.

“Indirectly, you mean with no proper promotions😖”

“Next weekend is my only hope of getting that advance so the song would be released a few hours before the first show and we would get the first promotion of the song there.”

The music video filming reportedly began on June 6 in Seoul. A well-known international director is working on the project. YG Entertainment said this comeback will show BLACKPINK’s musical identity in a new way.

“We are filming in Korea with a famous overseas director. This will create another iconic music video that encapsulates BLACKPINK’s identity and musical color.”
— YG Entertainment statement

Fans hoped for a full album, but YG only confirmed a single so far. The group has just 32 songs in eight years, which has always been a frustration for BLINKs. Many expected more music before their world tour.

“YG please release SONGS not just a song.”

“A whole tour with only one new song…. This is embarrass.”

The DEADLINE tour begins on July 5 in Goyang, South Korea. It includes 31 shows in 16 cities like Los Angeles, New York, Paris, London, and Tokyo. The tour will end in Hong Kong on January 25, 2026.

Jisoo recently hinted at the comeback in an interview with ELLE Korea. She said the members missed their fans and prepared something special.

“I’m really looking forward to it, and I’m thrilled. We’ve missed the cheers of BLINK so much, and we’re preparing something amazing so we can hear them even louder this time.”
— Jisoo’s statement

Despite leaving YG Entertainment for solo work, all four members signed exclusive group contracts to continue BLACKPINK activities. This comeback is their first under this new arrangement.

Other K-pop groups like ITZY, aespa, and ILLIT are actively promoting this summer. Fans compare their frequent releases to BLACKPINK’s long breaks. Some blame YG Entertainment for poor planning.

“It’s honestly hilarious how YG is promoting a new girl group that debuted for fcking 2 years, while he can’t even properly promote his current groups. Mind you, BLACKPINK’s tour and BABYMONSTER’s comeback are in July—and there’s still no sign of promotion.”

The last possible release date in June is the 27th. With only 10 days left, fans doubt YG will follow their usual 12–17 day promotion period. Many expect the song to drop right before the tour starts.

BLACKPINK’s influence remains strong despite their limited discography. They broke records with Born Pink, and their upcoming tour is already highly anticipated. Still, fans want more music and better communication from YG.

The group’s solo projects have been successful. Lisa starred in The White Lotus and released her album Alter Ego. Jennie launched her label ODD Atelier and dropped Ruby. Rosé collaborated with Bruno Mars on APT. and released Rosie. Jisoo debuted her album Amortage and acted in multiple projects.
