BLACKPINK member Rosé has set a new record with her song “Messy” from the F1 movie soundtrack. The track became the highest-debuting OST by a female K-pop soloist on the U.S. iTunes chart, entering at No. 54. It also reached No. 2 on the Worldwide iTunes Chart and topped charts in 16 countries.

Released on May 9, 2025, “Messy” surpassed the previous record held by Jennie’s collaboration with The Weeknd, “One of the Girls”, which debuted at No. 140. Fans celebrated the achievement, calling it “pure fan support” since the song had no major promotion.

The track is part of F1: The Album, the official soundtrack for the upcoming Brad Pitt racing movie. Rosé is the only K-pop artist featured on the star-studded album, which includes Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, Tate McRae, and Burna Boy. The full soundtrack releases on June 27, the same day as the film.

“Messy” also broke records on Spotify with 639,000 streams in just 8 hours, the highest for any F1 soundtrack song so far. The music video, filmed in Las Vegas, gained 6.7 million views on YouTube in its first day, making it the most-viewed OST MV by a female K-pop soloist.

Rosé wrote the song herself, showcasing a soft pop-rock sound with emotional lyrics. Fans praised her growth as a solo artist, with many calling her the “queen of K-pop.” Social media exploded with hashtags like “Rosé number one girl” and “Rosé supremacy.”

“BIG ROSIE! LETS GET IT HIGHER NUMBER ONES KEEP BUYING C’MON!!!!”

“And once again, this is an original song sung and co-written by ROSE herself! The talent just keeps speaking for itself.”

“The success this woman is able to bring to her projects with minimal promotion will never not be insane to me.”

The song’s success comes after Rosé’s solo album Rosie, which reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 last year. Her hit “APT.” featuring Bruno Mars spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200.

Rosé attended the Miami Grand Prix to promote the F1 movie, alongside stars like Brad Pitt, Doja Cat, and Burna Boy. She also made headlines at the 2025 Met Gala with her BLACKPINK bandmates Jennie and Lisa.
