The new movie F1, starring Brad Pitt, is set to hit theaters worldwide this month. The film follows a retired Formula 1 driver who returns to the sport to mentor a young racer. It was shot during real Grand Prix events with the help of actual F1 teams and drivers.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick), the movie will release internationally on June 25, 2025, and in the U.S. on June 27, 2025. Fans can watch it in IMAX for an immersive racing experience. The film also features real F1 drivers and teams from the 2023 season.

Brad Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a former F1 driver forced to retire after a crash. He is brought back by a friend, played by Javier Bardem, to coach a rookie racer named Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris). The story explores rivalry, teamwork, and the challenges of professional racing.

The production team worked closely with F1 to make the movie as real as possible. Pitt and Idris trained in Formula 2 and Formula 3 cars before filming. They even drove modified race cars during actual Grand Prix weekends at tracks like Silverstone and Abu Dhabi.

Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time F1 champion, helped as a producer and consultant. He gave advice on racing details, like how drivers behave during races. Director Kosinski said Hamiltonโ€™s involvement was crucial for authenticity.

The movieโ€™s budget is estimated at $200โ€“300 million, making it one of the most expensive racing films ever. It includes high-speed action scenes, real F1 footage, and a soundtrack by Hans Zimmer. Songs by artists like Doja Cat and Rosรฉ are also part of the album.
