BTS leader RM (Kim Namjoon) and American rapper Megan Thee Stallion have confirmed their collaboration for the upcoming single ‘Neva Play (feat. RM).’ The track is set to release on September 6, and it marks another collaboration between the South Korean and American music icons, sparking excitement among fans worldwide.

CHECK IT OUT:

Details of the Collaboration

The announcement was initially teased by Megan Thee Stallion, who shared on her social media that this song features some of the best lyrics she has ever heard from RM. She added that it would be the first time she heard RM rap in this particular style, raising curiosity among fans. The single’s cover art, shared by Megan, shows her with blue hair and holding cash, while RM is seen in the background. The hashtag #MEGJOON quickly gained traction online, symbolizing their joint creative effort.

Rumors about this collaboration gained momentum when BigHit Music reposted Megan’s announcement, including emojis of a hedgehog and a koala, which are linked to RM’s persona through BT21 stickers. This has led to speculation among fans that the track could be related to the upcoming film ‘Sonic The Hedgehog 3.’ However, no official confirmation about this connection has been made.

Previous Collaborations and RM’s Solo Journey

This is not the first time RM and Megan Thee Stallion have worked together. They previously collaborated on the ‘Butter’ remix in August 2021, where Megan added her powerful rap to the upbeat track. Their partnership was further highlighted when Megan made a surprise appearance at ‘BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LA’ in November 2021 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, which left fans thrilled.

RM has been actively collaborating with various international and domestic artists since his solo debut. His collaborations include working with British rapper Little Simz, American singer-songwriter Moses Sumney, and South Korean artists such as Jo Yoo-jin, Tablo, and Park Ji-yoon. His diverse musical projects have showcased his versatility and commitment to exploring new artistic avenues beyond his work with BTS.

Currently, RM is fulfilling his mandatory military service in South Korea. Despite this, he has continued to make an impact in the music industry, recently releasing his second solo album titled ‘Right Place, Wrong Person.’ The album features 11 tracks, further establishing his solo career and musical identity outside the group.
