The animation studio Big Firebird Culture has officially announced its next major project. Call Me Lord Eerie Bailiff, a new donghua adaptation of the popular web novel Please Call Me Ghost Messenger, is now in production.

The donghua is based on the web novel Qing Jiao Wo Gui Chai Da Ren , written by Xu Er Jia De Mao. The story began serialization on the Tomato Novel platform in March 2021 .
The plot is set in a modern world thrown into chaos after an eternal night descends. Ghosts and evil creatures invade the city, bringing blood rain and supernatural terror. In the middle of this nightmare, a mysterious boy dressed in black appears. He navigates between the living world and the spirit realm, delivering items and letters to the dead. Survivors begin whispering about him, calling him the “Great Lord of the Underworld” .
Who is Producing the Donghua Adaptation?
The animation is being produced by Big Firebird Cultural Media, a studio known for other donghua titles like Super Cube and Spare Me, Great Lord! . The project also involves Tencent Video, which will stream the series upon release . Wei Tian Xing is attached as the director .
Before this animation announcement, the novel was already adapted into a manhua (Chinese comic) by the studio Bixia Xinghe. That comic version has published 118 chapters .
When is the Call Me Lord Eerie Bailiff Release Date?
