Chae Jong Hyeop to Star in New Romance Drama ‘Shining’
Chae Jong Hyeop, who recently gained attention for his lead role in the romantic comedy Serendipity’s Embrace, has reportedly been cast as the lead in the upcoming romance K-drama Shining. According to a report from Sports Chosun on September 23, 2024, the actor will take on this new role after the success of his previous drama.
Story of ‘Shining’
Shining is expected to be a moving romance drama about love and relationships. The story will explore how love can become a guiding light for people, helping them find direction in their lives. The plot centers around the characters Yoon Tae Oh and Mo Eun Ah, whose paths cross again after a decade.
Chae Jong Hyeop is set to play Yoon Tae Oh, a train driver who faces a dramatic life change after losing his parents in a tragic accident at the age of nineteen. He is left to care for his younger brother, Tae Seo, who was injured in the accident. The story follows Tae Oh as he deals with feelings of loneliness and pain and how his reunion with his former girlfriend Mo Eun Ah impacts his life.
Team Behind ‘Shining’
The drama Shining is written by Lee Sook Yeon, known for her work on Tune in For Love and A Piece of Your Mind. The director of Shining will be Kim Yoon Jin, who previously directed Our Beloved Summer and Tell Me That You Love Me. Filming for Shining is scheduled to begin once the full cast is finalized.
