The second season of the action anime Chained Soldier has set its premiere date for January 8, 2026. The new season will introduce the powerful leaders of the Demon Defense Force, with a star-studded voice cast ready to bring them to life.
Fans will not have to wait long for the story to continue, as the series will be streamed on HIDIVE, the same platform that carried the first season. The upcoming season features a new animation production team and will focus on a major gathering of the Defense Force’s unit commanders.
Returning Favorites and New Faces
The core cast from the first season will return for the new episodes. This includes Yuya Hirose as Yuuki Wakura, the young man who becomes a powerful slave soldier, and Akari Kitล who resumes her role as Kyouka Uzen, the commander of the 7th Unit.
They will be joined by other familiar characters from the 7th Unit, such as Yume Miyamoto as Himari Azuma, Mari Hino as Shushu Suruga, and Hina Tachibana as Nei Okawamura. Maaya Uchida will also return as the beloved 6th Unit Commander, Tenka Izumo.
Meet the New Commander Cast
The major new addition for the second season is the full introduction of the other Demon Defense Force Unit Commanders. A wave of talented voice actors has been announced for these key roles.
The new cast members are:
- Kana Ichinose as Konomi Tatara, the Commander of the 1st Unit
- Fairouz Ai as Mira Kamiunten, the Commander of the 2nd Unit
- Manaka Iwami as Bell Tsukiyono, the Commander of the 3rd Unit
- Fลซka Izumi as Yakumo Ezo, the Commander of the 5th Unit
Additionally, Yukana will voice Fubuki Azuma, and Kana Hanazawa will play the Chief Commander, Ren Yamashiro, who leads the 10th Unit and the entire Defense Force.
A New Production Team Takes the Helm
The animation production for Chained Soldier Season 2 has shifted from Seven Arcs to a collaboration between studios Passione and Hayabusa Film. The new director is Masafumi Tamura, known for his work on The World’s Finest Assassin and The Misfit of Demon King Academy.
They will be working from series compositions by Yasuhiro Nakanishi, who returns from the first season. Keiya Nakano is the new character designer, and the music will once again be composed by Kohta Yamamoto, who scored the first season and the Attack on Titan final season.
The Story So Far
For those new to the series, Chained Soldier is set in a world where mysterious gates to an alternate dimension called Mato have appeared across Japan. From these gates emerge monsters known as Shuuki, and the only defense is an all-female military unit called the Demon Defense Force. The women in this force gain superhuman abilities by consuming special peaches found in Mato.
The story follows Yuuki Wakura, a high school boy who accidentally wanders into Mato. He is saved by Kyouka Uzen, who discovers that Yuuki possesses a unique powerโhe can become incredibly strong by entering a “Slave Form” under her command. Yuuki then joins the 7th Unit as its sole male member, fighting as Kyouka’s slave to protect humanity.
The first season of Chained Soldier aired in early 2024 and is available for streaming on HIDIVE.
