Grammy-winning singer Chris Brown has been released on $6.7 million (ยฃ5 million) bail by a London court. The decision allows him to start his “Breezy Bowl XX” world tour next month despite facing serious assault charges linked to a 2023 nightclub incident.

Brown, 36, was arrested last week in Manchester, England, over allegations he attacked music producer Abraham Diaw at Tape nightclub in London. Prosecutors claim Brown struck Diaw with a tequila bottle, punched, and kicked him during an unprovoked altercation caught on surveillance footage.

The Southwark Crown Court granted bail after Brown agreed to pay ยฃ4 million upfront and another ยฃ1 million within seven days. Judge Tony Baumgartner ordered Brown to surrender his passport when not touring and avoid contact with Diaw. Brown must return to court on June 20, between tour stops in Cardiff and London.

His tour begins June 8 in Amsterdam, with UK shows starting June 15. Brown posted on Instagram:

“FROM THE CAGE TO THE STAGE!!! BREEZYBOWL.”

American rapper Omololu Akinlolu (HoodyBaby), a friend of Brown, was also charged in the case. Both deny the allegations and have not entered pleas. Diaw previously sued Brown for ยฃ12 million ($16 million) in a civil lawsuit, claiming permanent injuries from the attack.

Brownโ€™s legal troubles date back to his 2009 assault on Rihanna, which led to probation. Since then, he has faced multiple accusations, including a 2022 rape allegation (later dismissed) and a 2024 lawsuit over a backstage fight in Texas.

The bail conditions require Brown to stay at a court-approved address and avoid Tape nightclub. If he violates terms, he forfeits the bail money and risks jail time.
