The latest episode of CIA brought more than just a complicated international case. Tom Ellis character Colin Glass faced his deepest emotional wounds when a trusted friend turned out to be a traitor. The episode, which aired on Monday, April 13, mixed a high-stakes bomb threat at a soccer match with a very personal story about guilt and loss. Viewers finally got to see Colin open up about the death of his former partner, Toni, and how he still blames himself for what happened.

A Bomb Threat That Wasn’t What It Seemed

The episode started with Colin and Bill Goodman (Nick Gehlfuss) handling security for a big soccer tournament. Suddenly, a bomb threat forced everyone to evacuate the stadium. Maggie Bell (Missy Peregrym) and Isobel Castille (Alana De La Garza) from FBI joined them to help secure the area.

But the bomb never went off. This made the team think the whole thing was a trick. Maybe someone wanted to cause panic to hide a bigger crime. The search led them to two missing players from the soccer team. The situation got even stranger when the National Intelligence Service from South Korea got involved. They said the team coaches were actually spies with secret reasons for being there.

The players went missing, and when the team finally found them, the coaches ran away before anyone could catch them. Kevin Turner from the Department of Counterterrorism showed up with more bad news. Every place the soccer team visited with those coaches had suffered some kind of attack.

The Search for a Young Girl Named Grace

The case took a different turn when the team found Josh, the person who placed the fake bomb at the stadium. During questioning, Josh explained he wasn’t trying to hurt anyone. He was trying to save a young girl named Grace. She had been brought from North Korea, and Josh wanted to create chaos so he could help her escape.

Josh’s plan failed when people found out who he was. He had to run away. The truth about Grace came out slowly. Her father is a high-ranking military leader in North Korea. He wanted her back. The coaches were chasing the soccer players because Grace’s mother was one of them.

For Colin and Bill, finding Grace and her mother became the main goal. They had to work fast before the coaches got to them first. The FBI and CIA worked together to track down the women and bring them to safety.

Colin’s Friend Andy Turns Out to Be the Enemy

The most shocking part of the episode was about Andy, Colin’s old friend from the South Korean National Intelligence Service. Andy was also close to Toni, Colin’s former partner who died. Throughout the investigation, Andy acted like he was helping the team.

But Bill started noticing things that didn’t add up. The information Andy gave them felt wrong. Bill tried to tell Colin that Andy might be working for the other side. Colin did not want to believe it at first. Trusting his friend was easier than facing the truth.

Finally, Colin had to accept that Bill was right. Andy was a double agent working for North Korea.

The Subway Showdown and a Close Call

Colin decided to follow Andy himself. He tracked his friend to the Canal Street subway station. There, Andy pulled a gun on the soccer players. He told the coaches to bring the women outside. Then he turned to Colin.

What happened next was the most intense moment of the series so far. Andy put his gun to the back of Colin’s neck and said,

“Say hi to Toni for me.”

It looked like Colin was about to die. But Bill arrived just in time and knocked Andy out before he could pull the trigger. The FBI took everyone involved into custody. Later, Bill and Colin found Grace and her mother. The two women and the young girl received asylum, finally safe from the people hunting them.

Why Colin Still Can’t Forgive Himself

The case got solved, but the emotional damage stayed with Colin. After everything was over, he brought Bill to his apartment. He wanted to thank his partner for saving his life. Colin also appreciated that Bill did not say “I told you so” about Andy.

“Toni wasn’t just my partner. She was and always will be the love of my life.”

Colin opened up about his guilt. Toni died in an explosion while meeting with one of Colin’s assets. He blames himself for her death, even though others tell him it was not his fault. Andy turned into a double agent after Toni died. He stayed in the field and never processed the loss. The North Koreans came to him when he had nothing left to lose.

This conversation between Colin and Bill finally brought some honesty to their partnership. For the first time, Colin shared something real about his past. Bill listened without judging.

Bill’s Old Flame Shows Up

Not everything in the episode was about danger and betrayal. Bill ran into an old law school classmate named Lauren, who now works as an assistant US attorney. Colin immediately noticed the chemistry between them.

Bill admitted they dated in junior year but broke up after graduation. Lauren asked him to get sushi and catch up. Bill turned her down. He mentioned his fiancée, Katie, his high school sweetheart. Lauren called him “Wild Bill Goodman” and joked about how much he had changed.

She told him she would see him around. This small moment left viewers wondering if Lauren might cause problems for Bill’s relationship later.

The FBI Crossover Added Extra Firepower

Having Maggie Bell and Isobel Castille from FBI in this episode added more depth to the story. Maggie and Bill already have a history from working together, and their scenes felt natural. Isobel worked with the South Korean embassy to move the investigation forward.

But the real strength of CIA Episode 7 came from the growing bond between Colin and Bill. They are learning to trust each other, one difficult conversation at a time.

CIA airs Mondays at 10/9c on CBS. The episode is also available for streaming on Paramount+.
