Dex’s agency has officially denied rumors that the Single’s Inferno star will join Suzy in the upcoming fantasy drama Men of the Harem. Here’s what we know so far about the casting confusion and the drama’s details.

On June 19, multiple reports claimed Dex (Kim Jin Young) was cast in Men of the Harem, a new fantasy romance drama. The story follows Empress Latil, who forms a harem of male concubines to secure her throne. Dex was rumored to play one of the concubines alongside lead actress Suzy.

However, Dex’s agency, KTHD Studio, quickly denied the news. They told Xports News, “The reports about Dex appearing in Men of the Harem are not true.” This statement shut down speculation but left fans curious about Dex’s next acting project.

Dex rose to fame through Netflix’s Single’s Inferno 2 and has since appeared in shows like Zombieverse and Adventure by Accident. He made his acting debut in the 2023 horror film Tarot and will soon star in the ENA drama The Defects, premiering in July.

Meanwhile, Men of the Harem remains a highly anticipated drama. Based on a popular web novel, it tells the story of Empress Latil, who takes power after her father’s assassination. To protect her throne, she brings five male concubines into her court.

The drama is directed by Lee Eung Bok, known for hits like Goblin, Descendants of the Sun, and Sweet Home. Writer Hwang Jin Young, who worked on My Dearest, is handling the script. Production is led by Studio Dragon, ensuring high-quality visuals and storytelling.

Suzy was earlier reported to be in talks for the lead role of Empress Latil. Her agency, Management SOOP, confirmed she received the offer but has not yet confirmed her acceptance. If she takes the role, it will mark her return to historical fantasy after Doona! and While You Were Sleeping.

Fans of the original Men of the Harem web novel are excited about the adaptation. The story, written by Alphatart, gained over 120 million views on Naver. The webtoon version, illustrated by Yeongbin, is still ongoing with three seasons.

The drama is expected to air in 2026, though no official release date has been announced. With a strong creative team and potential A-list casting, it could become one of the year’s biggest K-dramas.
