Mohanlal fans, mark your calendars. The final chapter of the blockbuster Malayalam crime thriller franchise Drishyam 3 is heading to digital screens just weeks after its theatrical release. The Jeethu Joseph-directed film, which hit cinemas on May 21, 2026, will begin streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video from June 18, 2026.
The official announcement came through the streaming platform’s social media channels. Prime Video shared a set of images featuring Georgekutty (Mohanlal) and his family with the caption: “Georgekutty and family awaits you #Drishyam3OnPrime, June 18”.

Drishyam 3 will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video starting June 18, 2026. The film will be available in its original Malayalam language, along with dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. Subscribers in India and across more than 200 countries and territories worldwide will be able to watch the film on the platform.
This marks the third instalment in the iconic franchise, following the massive success of Drishyam (2013) and Drishyam 2 (2021). The second film was released directly on Prime Video during the pandemic, while the third had a successful theatrical run first.

Released in theatres on May 21, 2026, Drishyam 3 performed impressively at the box office, collecting over Rs 234 crore globally. The film has become the second-highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time in India.

What to Expect From Drishyam 3
Drishyam 3 continues the story of Georgekutty and his family as they attempt to lead a peaceful life after the Varun murder case was officially closed by the police. However, the family lives in constant fear of new evidence emerging. As they prepare for Anju’s wedding, the return of an old nemesis seeking vengeance puts Georgekutty on the defensive once again.
Unlike the previous installments that were more plot-heavy, the third film delves into deeper ethical dilemmas as Georgekutty protects his family. The film explores how far a man will go to shield his loved ones from the consequences of past actions.
The Hindi Remake
The Hindi version of Drishyam 3, starring Ajay Devgn and directed by Abhishek Pathak, is slated for release on October 2, 2026. Unlike the previous films, the third instalment of the Hindi franchise will differ from the Malayalam version, featuring a different story and screenplay.
The franchise’s popularity has also led to remakes in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, as well as a Chinese adaptation, with a Korean remake currently in the works.
