Emraan Hashmi, who impressed the audience with his villainous role in Tiger 3, has been roped in to star in the upcoming spy action thriller Goodachari 2, alongside Adivi Sesh and Banita Sandhu. The film, also known as G2, is the second installment of the successful franchise that began with Goodachari in 2018. The makers announced the news on Thursday, February 15, 2024, with a poster featuring Hashmi and Sesh.
Goodachari 2 promises to be bigger and better than the first part
Goodachari, which starred Adivi Sesh and Sobhita Dhulipala in the lead roles, was a critically acclaimed and commercially successful film that revolved around a young man who discovers his father’s secret identity as a spy and follows in his footsteps. The film was praised for its gripping story, sleek action, and technical excellence. It was directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka and produced by Abhishek Nama, TG Vishwa Prasad, and Abhishek Agarwal.
Goodachari 2, on the other hand, is being helmed by Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi, who has previously worked as an associate director for films like Evaru and Hit. The film is being jointly produced by People Media Factory, Abhishek Agarwal Arts, and AK Entertainments. The film will also feature Banita Sandhu, who made her debut in the Telugu film industry with Varmaa, the remake of Arjun Reddy. The film will be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
Emraan Hashmi is excited to be part of the spy franchise
Emraan Hashmi, who is known for his versatile roles in Bollywood, expressed his excitement to join the cast of Goodachari 2 on his social media accounts. He wrote, “The biggest spy franchise gets a blockbuster addition. Boarding mission #G2. Shoot in progress.” He also shared a poster of the film, which showed him and Sesh in a stylish and intense look.
Adivi Sesh, who is also the creative force behind the franchise, welcomed Hashmi on board with a tweet. He wrote, “Welcoming the brilliant @emraanhashmi into the #G2 Universe. Can’t wait to work with you sir. It’s going to be (fire emoji).” Hashmi replied to Sesh’s tweet, saying, “Glad to be onboard. Can’t wait !! And pls no formalities with calling me … Sir plain ol Emraan will do !! C u soon.”
The producer of the film, Abhishek Agarwal, also expressed his happiness to have Hashmi on board. He said, “It is wonderful to have Emraan coming on board for G2. His stature and acting prowess will completely justify the weight of the character. The most awaited spy franchise gets more exciting with his addition to the team.”
Goodachari 2 is expected to release in late 2024
The shooting of Goodachari 2 is currently in progress and the film is expected to hit the screens in late 2024. The film will have music by Sricharan Pakala, cinematography by Azhar, and editing by Kalyan Kodati. The film will also have Rajiv Rajaraman as the action director, Rajeev Nair as the production designer, and Rajiv Ravi as the dialogue writer.
