After speculation surrounding the marriage of Esha Deol, daughter of legendary actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini, and businessman Bharat Takhtani, the couple has officially announced their decision to part ways. Ending their 12-year union, both Esha and Bharat have issued a joint statement affirming their separation, citing it as a mutually agreed-upon choice made in the best interest of themselves and their children.
The news of their divorce had been circulating for some time, but it wasn’t until now that Esha and Bharat have confirmed it themselves. The couple, who tied the knot nearly 11 years ago, released a statement to Delhi Times, expressing that this decision was made with utmost consideration for their family’s well-being. They emphasized the importance of privacy and requested respect during this challenging time.
Their marital discord had been hinted at through various incidents, including Bharat’s absence during Hema Malini’s birthday celebrations and Esha’s absence during Bharat’s birthday festivities, sparking rumors of trouble in paradise.

Esha, a well-known actress in the Indian film industry, debuted in Bollywood in 2002 with “Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe” and went on to star in several films like “Dhoom,” “No Entry,” “Kya Dil Ne Kaha,” “Shaadi No. 1,” and “Yamla Pagla Deewana.” She ventured into the digital realm with her OTT debut in 2022 with Ajay Devgan’s “Rudra: The Edge of Darkness.”
Their love story began during a school competition, where Esha and Bharat first crossed paths. Recalling their journey, Esha mentioned their initial acquaintance during her school days and how their relationship rekindled after a brief hiatus, eventually leading to marriage.
Despite their separation, both Esha and Bharat have maintained a dignified silence regarding the specific reasons behind their decision, choosing instead to focus on co-parenting their two daughters, Radhya and Miraya.
